  • Right taking car to garage first thing in the morning. I'm assuming I'm going to have to pay for the damage first of all as the insurance company won't if I'm only 3rd party covered.. so confused as to what will happen next!!!

You need to pursue these people. Have you spoken to your insurer? Your policy only pays for the 3rd party when you cause the accident. If they caused the accident by dangerous driving then their insurance company should pay for your car to be fixed. If they aren't insured then there is still a fund that would pay out for your car to be fixed.

If you give all the details to your insurer, hopefully they will start making the right moves for you towards at least getting hold of these people. It's not good for them that they fled the scene.

In the mean time I'm going to have to pay for damage/write it off and have no other means of transport :(

Will ring my insurance company again at 9am as heard nothing more from them though they promised to call me yesterday!

The garage are currently getting an estimate for me.

One thing in your favour is that as it's a modern expensive car it is more likely to be insured that if it was an old wreck. I'm not sure from your comments about the database if it shows as insured or not?

I agree that if you have unisured loss insurance that should at least get some pressure applied.

Asuming what you have said is true, I can't see what else you could have done. With hindsight, as there was no other traffic around and as there were 3 of you in the car, maybe to have stopped as soon as the aggression started would have been wisest?

But I wasn't there so it's very easy to guess

Best of luck and I'm sure we would all like to hear the outcome:T
I like the thanks button, but ,please, an I agree button.

Will the grammar and spelling police respect I do make grammatical errors, and have carp spelling, no need to remind me.;)

Always expect the unexpected:eek:and then you won't be dissapointed

I'm absolutely screwed guys! Help :(

The damage is £1000 but car value £1300....

Insurance company have got the claim now. I need to wait an hour and then I'll get a solicitor assigned to me as I have legal cover!

Right now the car is in the garage but I can't pay to get it fixed really...

I have no idea what to do! I can't afford to buy another car, and if I did I'm assuming when I transfer insurance they'd screw me over!

    :( Help

EDIT: Getting a call from my solicitor this afternoon that Endsleigh appointed, but I'm still stuck at the moment :(

Well the latest is.. police will be investigating, insurance company will be speaking to the cars insurance company, and my solicitors will also be asking questions.

Hopefully the pressure will get to him!

when you take your car for an estimate ask them to ask for a contract figure, this means they may use second hand parts ,but you are more likely to get it fixed rather than witten off.

i recenty had someone at work take the roof off one of my minibuses and a new roof was £3000 but second hand one £100 makes a big difference in the garage quotes.
