Keith i think your going a bit too far have you never made a mistake with driving?
The fact is the bloke cut him up and then slammed on so he would rear end him if it was all innocent why did he drive off then??????
If you have nothing useful to say dont bother saying it the OP just came for advice and your not giving it.

Merciless killer
since the other driver braked late and u went into him is there no specks of paint on your bumper which will coincide with u having to brake late and go into him,No Links in Signature by site rules - MSE Forum Team 20 -
Well the car was crushed inwards and the creases were all white as expected. I didn't actually look that closely to see if there were any specs? The garage now has the car... Maybe I could ring and ask them to keep the bonnet? I think they've already stripped it though..[FONT=Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif]"The internet is a great way to get on the net."

Hey guys,
Just an update. Solicitor called today to say she was forwarding the motor assessment forms through to the guys insurance company demanding they pay the repair cost immediately! There's a chance they'll pay up and make it go away quickly!
I'm assuming theres not much chance really of this happening but hey[FONT=Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif]"The internet is a great way to get on the net."

Also a chance they'll dig their heels in and call the guy who'll deny it. But my guess is if the value is low in their terms, i.e. it will cost them more to defend it, they'll just persuade the guy to fess up somehow.0

The garage have said they'll keep the old parts in case they're required or need to be inspected but he said he couln't see any blue on it.
Paid £1059 and got the car back. When I drove it, twice when I put my foot on the clutch it clicked and went straight to the floor. When I took my foot off and put it back on it was absolutely fine! Done a few hours of driving it now, happened twice in the first 30 mins and not again. Both when going slow.
Spoke to garage who then inspected the clutch and cable and it was absolutely fine with no problems....
Bit weird!
Apart from that it's all done! The lawyer has officially sent the other insurance company a letter telling them to pay. Will let you know the outcome![FONT=Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif]"The internet is a great way to get on the net."

I'd be very surprised if the CPS raise a case against the other driver. You were not following at a safe distance and you rear ended him.
Perhaps, he managed to maintain control of his vehicle whilst throwing coins/stones at you. Something I doubt very much.
Your story has a lot of holes apart from one. You went into the rear of a vehicle because you did not leave a safe distance in the event that the vehicle in front stopped.
Would I get excited? No, I'd have left a safe distance and not got involved in such a petty row.
I wouldn't be so pessimistic. If this was a case of an induced accident, informally called a 'slam on', then insurers' technical claims units are very hot on this kind of thing, sharing information on vehicles, claimant's, hot spots, solicitors used by the fraudster and much, much more (also involving the police in groups such as Insurance Fraud Investigators Group). On first reading the OP's post, assuming it is an accurate version of events, this is what first came to my mind.
Here's quite an interesting article on the subject:

Actually that sounds very possible raskazz. Thanks for that link!
Either way as he drove off from the scene he's already in trouble me thinks![FONT=Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif]"The internet is a great way to get on the net."
