I remember him at the start of all this pulling out of a cul de sac onto the main road as well!
I'm just in hope something gets done![FONT=Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif]"The internet is a great way to get on the net."

To start off with, I would just like to say you acted correctly.
The other driver has committed the offence of not stopping at the scene of an accident. When you phone your insurers, give them the registration number and they can find out who the other insurance company is and who the vehicle is registered to. If they're uninsured and you paid that £20 for legal expenses, use the legal expenses to sue their backsides off for the cost of damages. It's amazing how quickly they respond when they realise you've got £10,000 of solicitors time to hassle them with for the money and you're not going away.0 -
It's a shame there are such idiots allowed on the roads.
I don't know if the first 2 things here are relevant or not http://www.opsi.gov.uk/acts/acts1988/ukpga_19880052_en_2#pt1-pb1-l1g2
Have you checked the reg number for insurance status here?

No wonder your neck hurts after running into one of them in a small pug!
No advice - I just hope they get their commupence.0 -
I wouldnt use the term
" I'm just an average 20 year old with a clean license, no problems.. a pug 206 1.1, so not a speed freak at all"
Round here and most places unfortunately they are complete idiots, would love to hear the other side of the story, but good luck.0 -
Thanks Jackie...
I mean at the point where he was speeding and slowing side by side I was worried sick. didn't know what to do!
I feel a bit helpless and stuck now. I have 2 weeks left at work..> I work 20 mins away and have NO idea how I'm going to get there and back (buses go the opposite way first..), and also how long it would take to get fixed, and how much!
If only Leeds was just a small village![FONT=Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif]"The internet is a great way to get on the net."

Unfortunately I realise that most "average 20 year olds" seem to drive stupidly! You'll just have to take my word for it I guess. I mean I have a standard car (not fast) and a clean license as an example really.[FONT=Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif]"The internet is a great way to get on the net."

Preparing to be flamed here.
You have no witnesses.
You ran into the back of him.
You claim he drove off. He may claim you drove off.
As you ran into him, the damage backs this up, you lose.
Sorry, but that is a very possible scenario.
HeyNo flame needed don't worry. Some peiople on MSE tend to insult OPs and they get flamed. Yours is useful!
Either way I realise that's the situation and that's why I'm so downbeat today and worried!
The thing is, he did not stop and report the incident. You HAVE to in an accident.. so sure he can blame me, but the fact he didn't stop looks in my favour....
Plus the other 2 people in my car, sure aren't independtant witnesses for the police but surely in a court or something they're taken seriously...
I'm really hoping someone else saw it and rung the police! It was very obvious what had happened! He sped off about over 50mph easily through a 30 zone in the distance to get away.. I think he didn't want me to see his number plate![FONT=Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif]"The internet is a great way to get on the net."
