Don't worry Jo, you can't be everywhere and BargainFinder has became my voice of reason!! I can sort myself out, I know I can, just need to be sensible, not my forte!
Lynne, maybe he was trying to be supportive, he knows that it's for the best but understands that you will miss your own buisness??0 -
CC you will, for all i have no money at this present moment, now this is going to sound back to front. Lack of money is not the real problem !!!. Its wasting of the money i get and bad money management. We have a income of £1,700 a month, more than enough, its just my spending and wasting thats the problem.

I wish that was the case cc, but he is always a doom and gloom merchant, he also asked me if I was up to the job:mad: . Good job he is far away!!!0 -

ooh, everyone suddenly got busy while I was out on my lunch!
Lilmiss, you have done so well, as the others say, muscle build up will 'add' weight, and sometime I find I lose weight in 'arrears' so it might kick in next week? Well done for maintaining!
Lynn, I second the cheers and congratulations, really glad you have. I’m sure your oh will come round (?!) eventually; when he sees that you have made the right choice. From my point of view, getting a new job without interviews etc is brilliant!
CC, you’re welcome, and I will expect everyone to do the same for me one day when I am trying to talk myself into buying a car or new clothes etc!! It’s a lot easier to be the voice of reason for someone else than for yourself…
Which leads me to say thanks again Jo, I will join you in the ‘lotions and potions’ challenge and not buy anymore until I have used up what I have got. We are packing at the moment, and in sorting out bags and stuff, I have found 4 bottles of suncream, as I usually buy a new one wherever we go… not this time! This time I am using up the ends of them all! I love the ‘spendaholic to scroogaholic’ lol!! That is so good!
Icka, finance is one of the toughest strains on a relationship, it really is. And I think I understand where you are coming from, my mum is in debt and her husband was been paid enough redundancy last year to pay off his mortgage and have loads in savings, yet she refuses to let him pay it off as she wants to be responsible for it herself. At the same time, if you wont get married until it’s paid off and he is willing to pay for the wedding etc; is there a need for a compromise somewhere?? Sorry if I’ve misunderstood, I am totally on your side of course;) And put it this way, if your relationship can stand this test, you’re on the right path:D
Ooh dear, I’ve gone on again…. Back to work for me…Personal challenge: Do without as much as possible to pay off £12k by 07/2009!!!:T

Crazychatter to behonest I have been living in my overdraft for over two years so would have no idea how to live without it. So I feel your pain. Just started another thread on relationships with one partner being more finanically stabel than the other, hoping to get some answers on that myself as I did not want to burden the lovlies here. I know no one would mind but didnt want to get off topic,Thread softly becuase you thread on my dreams0

Icka, I have just read your other thread but I'd rather reply on here if that's ok. My boyf earns a bit more than me but has higher rent and bills so there isn't too much difference really, he is just much more sensible than I am. But this still causes problems, he doesn't understand how I spend so much and how I have become so reliant on my overdraft. So I would agree with Jo, it is not the amount money it is the attitude to money that causes the problems.
I have been on the other side of things thou, I once dated a guy with NO money savvy at all, coming from me you must realise how bad he was! He changed job and flat constantly so I tried to help him by paying for his food shopping, clothes, nights out and even sometimes his rent! I was young and stupid! I thought I was helping him but I wasn't in the long run and it got me into lots of debt, when we broke up he owed me £2000 which I have never got back.0 -
CC so been there done that my first BF was a usless layabout but I was 19 and thought life would end without him:eek: . Worked three jobs paid for everything, gave him pocket money everyday and took out two loans in my name for him:eek: . How stupid can you get. But you grow up and OUT:rolleyes: .
Jo my darling you have obviously never heard of the amazing Stardrops. They are the biggest newn on MSE. You dont need any other cleaning product. And they cost £1.99 or something. There are whole threads dedicated to them.
Have a look you will never turn back. I think it is on the old style board but seriously lceaning will never be the same:rolleyes:Thread softly becuase you thread on my dreams0
