  • oooh Puzzled, I hate it when that happens. If I'm writing a long post, I write it in Word, and then copy and paste it in!! (Don't always know when it's going to be long though...!!!!:D

Lynne, I know this will sound so fussy, but I hate smoothies!:rotfl: OH loves them, so I got a bag of frozen fruit to whip up, but then he broke the blender blade trying to mush them up while they were still frozen:rolleyes: :rotfl:
To be fair, I am pretty good at drinking juice and eating frozen veg with meals. We have started buying the microwavable small packs, so if we forget to cook any, we can wap them in the microwave and they're done in 2 minutes... problem is; they're just not cheap :o

I love potato and leek soup as well, it's dead easy to make.

Chicken stock cubes, 3 or 4 potatoes water, 3 leeks, green bits as well and about 3 garlic cloves. ust boil it all up until soft and blitz if you like it smooth. You can get a blender for about 8 quid in t__s_o. The value one, it's great. That's what I have.

The soup is brilliant and is good to take to work. I LUV soup. I could eat it all day long.

  • Mmm, I like some soup - we went out on holiday and had a wonderful creamy tomato soup, unlike anything I've ever eaten.... never had the motivation to make my own though, I guess I'm lazy... boooff (that was me giving myself a kick up the backside..)
Ok, we're on holiday from 22 August - 11 Sep, when I come back I promise Lynne, that I will make myself some soup, I'll spend a day making a HUGE batch, and then freeze it (can I freeze it?? What do I freeze it in??) and then I'll eat soup for lunch everyday. I'm sure it will help my weight loss and purse!!
I don't know if I can eat soup without a lovely soft white roll with it......

    Yes,

You can freeze soup, put it into a plastic container and it will keep for ages, bring it out to defrost the night before.

I don't see any harm in having a roll with your soup, just don't put any butter on it.

I think you need to strike a balance and not deprive yourself of everything, that's when you get fed up.

  • Hi, Sorry I've not been here much this week, was on training yesterday which was good as I learnt a lot and it got me out of the office. Great to read so many posts thou!
I know what you mean about veg, so many times I buy stuff with good intentions then feel terrible when I realise I've abandoned it to go mouldy!
I've recently started to make lots of batches of stir frys and spag bog with lots of veg in, I hate cooking but I do feel happy when I eat these healthy meals!
Exercise is certainly my downfall, I brought a car earlier this year (with a bank loan so not good financially) and I use it constantly when I really should walk, but it's too tempting!
Anyone got nice plans for the weekend?
  • Hi crazychatter, nice to see you back:T
I have made up my mind now to eat soup when I get back from holiday, and I have Lynne's permission to eat a roll with it as well:D ;) I don't actually worry about no butter, I actually prefer bread without butter if it is soft nice crusty bread - I love Tiger rolls from Mr T or As:j

oooh, I am so tempted to buy a car at the moment, especially if I move jobs to where I want to work which is 10 minutes by car and 40 minutes by bus:confused: - but it would add so much more money each month; which technically we can afford, but then we wouldn't be able to pay off as much debt each month and so wouldn't be able to get a mortgage and move in July next year....

It's so nice to be able to talk about eating and spending in the same thread:D

    Hi Ladies

Ok so I know I have been crap and having a crap time. But

This morning I went to the gym to have the mother of all assessments and I am 10stone and 3lbs so I have lost 2lbs:T .

Ok they did my BMI which is 23 and everything else. I have never been put through hell like that. The whole thing took 2 hours as a part of me joining.

Student membership at 30 is fantastic. Anyway. So it has given me such a kick up the !!!.

You girlies are all doing so brilliant Im so proud. I was on a cross trainer and I literally thought I was going to die. So my new mission is lose pounds on my bum, and tum and gain pounds in my purse and over all get fit.

Im going to go for a walk this evening. There is a lovely walk at the back of my house its only half an hour. But if I do exercise on a friday night Im less likely to want to go to the pub.

    Chat later
