Hi Lynn, you are good:A
Raisins are a fantastic idea...
I cant do salad though, as we shop once a month to save on shopping bills, we dont drink much milk so buy 1 pint whenever we need it, and bread we freeze... so if I buy salad I find it goes off in the fridge before I [STRIKE]have chance to[/STRIKE] eat it:o Any ideas for 5 a day based on no fresh stuff... I have orange juice in the morning, and we usually aim to have 2 veg with our tea (albeit frozen or tinned veg)
Ok, I realise I have now confessed I am a frozen/tinned food junkie:eek:Personal challenge: Do without as much as possible to pay off £12k by 07/2009!!!:T

Skintlynne - In an ideal world, i would be doing all those things and wouldn't be so overweight...the things is I know what I should be eating but I don't. And like Bargainfinder I also shop once a month and just pick stuff up as and when. The good thing is that posting on here is helping me to see what I should be doing.0

I know, it's not easy and I fall off the wagon all the time. I think we all know what to do, but the temptation takes over when we see the goodies that are available.
I wonder when you girls are shopping if you should look at the frozen veggies. Another idea a friend of mine gave me (she grows her own veg) is that she blanches her excess stuff and freezes it. Also, my mother in law freezes anything she doesnt use.
Personally if I have veg that is going to go off I just throw it into a pot with some stock cubes and it always turns out nice, it can be anything from tomatoes to peppers to broccoli, it all goes in the pot luck pot:rotfl:
I do think that the raisins are a great thing, I just buy the wee kiddies packs and snack on them, they are as sweet as chocolate.
My dad and brother are dieting just now, Dad has lost 5 stone and brother 2 stone, they are both big lads, so it can be done. They still have their treats after the weigh in and then get back to it.
Water is the best drink, I don't drink fizzy drinks at all, diet is even worse than ordinary cause of all the chemicals in it.
It's good being an :A :rotfl:

Well - 'babysteps' is the motto of MSE is it not?!! It doesn't really bother me that I don't eat that much veg consistently - I eat it enough to stay healthy! As I sing in a choir, our singing teacher 'Commands'
us to take Vit C 4 times a day (yes, that's 4 times the reccomended intake:eek:!), but it definately keeps the colds at bay, and also helps with my vitamin intake... otherwise I'm happy eating what I eat, as long as I'm not putting on weight. It also makes it a treat to buy fresh veg when I'm on holiday:o!

Ive got a gift shop bargainfinder. It's quiet just now though so I am looking for a job to tide me over. I was a sales rep before so if I get something like that as long as I am doing the job, I can nip in here and see what's happening. It would fit around the shop nicely.

I thought it was you that owned a shop.. have you had any luck job hunting?
I've been having some trouble at work recently, to the point where I have just applied for 2 other jobs. In a way it's simple for me, because I'm admin, so there are loads of jobs out there - but I want one that I will enjoy...!! It's scary in a way, looking for another job, but at the same time I'm ok because at least it's me that wants to leave and not my employer who wants to get rid of me...Personal challenge: Do without as much as possible to pay off £12k by 07/2009!!!:T

Hi wtbas - you poor thing, I hate that sinking feeling where the overdraft is much more than you thought it was, I have had that happen toooo many times before ((hug))
Well done on resisting the temptation to eat so far! I have not.. I have had 2 slices of toast instead of one and 4 chocolates (they were starting to go white... okay okay I know, no excuse...:D
I'm working till 5 not 4 today... drat.. that extra hour just 'kills' me, and I think I may possibly eat more chocolate before the day is out.....!!Personal challenge: Do without as much as possible to pay off £12k by 07/2009!!!:T

I've just thought Bargainfinder, frozen fruit like rasps and strawbs etc are good to make into smoothies, just put them into a blender along with some apple juice and perhaps a banana and blitz it. Nice to drink for breakfast, put some honey in to sweeten it up as well.
