lYNNE hang in there, you are doing well. sorry poorly is having a bad time of it. Life really is a B*mmer aint it. But you will cope with it and come out the other side a better person, for facing it head on and coming throught it all. We all will. thats what is all about really, not how good or bad we do. But facing are issues not brushing them under the carpet but dealing with it.

Keep posting, we here for you.

i know i kept my previous loss quiet Blue - i think the problem is i forget - i still see myself as the "house" i was before (no offence meant but thats how i saw myself another one of my favorites was saying "ive got more roles than a bakery"):o

Thanks for all the support - im going to post to you all individually in a min but have to sort OH out first (he is needing my advice on repayments :T its only taken 3 years for him to actually ask for help :rotfl:

Sorry bargainfinder - I was only at work till 1pm today just so I could beautify myself at the hairdressers this afternoon. I feel better now - but spent £10 more than I was expecting. I haven't given in to the Twix's or biccies - but if they were at home with me now I'd have scoffed at least half.

Bluejeans, you seem like you're on a roll - the encouragement and enthusiasm is just jumping off the screen; thanks for that.

cmcconnell - We have all been there and done that, don't beat yourself up about it. We are all here to help one another - I don't share my weight with anyone but have done so with these guys because they have been so welcoming. So just keep coming back and sharing - it will help you to keep things in perspective and no-one is judging you here.

Just to finish - I keep going in to my local (every little helps) store and spending a few pounds here and there, but it's all on crap. I need to sort this out big time and bring stuff into work as it's costing me more than it needs to be.

No offence taken Puzzled - I have to say that I see myself as a guy because I'm so large and I don't feel feminine, the only thing remotely feminine are my big melons...look forward to hearing from you soon.

thanks for the welcome! I am pleased that I'm not the only one who's trying to build a better relationship between food and debt.

Today I've had my second full day of using up only food in my fridge for lunch and dinner, and am pleased as punch I've spent less than £10 since last Wednesday on all my food for the week :money:to top up what's in the cupboard and fridge.

what I do with the curry is: fry the mustard seeds in a little oil until they "pop", then add leftover veg and beans, can of tomatoes, all of the spices and simmer until everything is lovely and tender. If I have some coriander left I add that - I grow this on my windowsill from a £1 packet of seeds , and I also have some fresh chillies on the go grown from leftover chillies :)

You could totally add some meat pieces into the mix, you could probably add it to the mustard seeds and oil until its cooked
  • Hi everybody

:o I bought and scoffed half a pack of biscuits yesterday evening with banana milkshake and :o the other half today for lunch today with strawberry milkshake. Not looking good for tomorrows weigh in.

However I told hubby we got to go back to the no munchies in the house rule. Its a bit easier for us as we still have no kids, else I wouldnt make them miss out on the occasional treat!

So I told hubby, whos very understanding, if he wants munchies hes allowed them but to hide them in his van or the garage as if theyre indoors I will search them out until I find them and eat them, the drive to do this is stronger than the willpower

He said thats ok and infact he has even cut down on what he has, not sure if hes feeling tubby himself or not  but he does a lot of physical work so it easier for him to burn it off, just the health factor isnt as good for him. He often offers to eat his treats in another room!

So we agreed that he can have munchies and I will stick to my Activia yoghurts and my favourites Rowntrees no added sugar jelly pots, 1 cal per pot :D But the flavour is quite strong and 'hits the spot' especially the orange ones ;)

The worst thing for me is I must get back into an :j exercise / activity routine rather than sat at pc all day and evening looking at MSE ways to save :rotfl:before this summer has passed us and I say what summer when everuone else says how lovely its been outdoors!

Keep up the good work everybody :T

Hello all (if you remember me! haha)

Sorry I've been away for a bit (work trip) - but I'm back now! I've been eating ok but not that great - still giving in to the choc temptation too often! I actually bought a tub of choc mini rolls from Tesco earlier (the shame!). :o

Spending-wise, I've been doing ok. So far in August I've had two NDSs (only managed two in the whole of July!!) and am below budget on everything. Am very tempted by a lovely bracelet in Oasis, £15!!! Mustn't. Mustn't.

Also re: natural skin products/cosmetics etc. I've been reading so much into it all and have decided to try to cut out all harmful stuff where possible - that means parabens, phthalates etc. Trouble is, I already have such a large stock of such things to use up (being a MSE, I bulk buy when stuff's on offer and haven't had to go near Boots in ages as a result). Do I use them up before starting on the natural stuff? Or just (argh) bin them?

But the overeating is the main thing - I really need to get a grip! Someone I hadn't seen in a year saw me yesterday and remarked that I'd put on weight - not very tactful I know, but in a way it is giving me a little spur to do something about it!! Now that I know that my weight gain isn't just in my imagination... :o

Well done to the weight losers, I haven't yet read through all the pages I've missed but will get through them all!

    Missed ya all BTW :A
