Jo, I have a creams and potions thing to, and I figured a great way of saving money and still pandering to it... I have 2 huge boxes, which I chucked everything from the bathroom and bedroom into, and then took 3 things out and put them in the bathroom to use... when I got bored of them, I put them in the bottom box and took 3 out of the top box.. it's really exciting and as good as getting new things, as you forget what you've got, and if you put new toiletries you get as gifts in there, it's a really pleasant surprise!!
I took my apple to choir with me and ate it at 6pm, and then had sausage and mash at 9.30pm when I got home which DH cooked for me, bless 'im.
Thanks for all the BBQ tips, I will pick up some fruit and salad and fill up on that. I think there are a few other 'diet ees' there tonight, so I should be ok!
Have a healthy day guys xxx

3 finish weeding garden
4 sort out 'home' filing
5 list a least 2 things on ebay
6 long bath - exfoliate, moisturise - using up lotions!!
and of course go to work.
reasons why it is cheaper to be slim No 2
So many more small clothes in charity shops than big sizes!
have a good day

List for today
1. dont go over my budget for day out.
2. sort through my clothes and see what fits for holiday (wont be much)

Well Done on being Thread of the week! I too haven't had an opportunity to read through all the pages yet - will do that later!
I would like to just add my own experience of being in debt and not being able to lose weight (that despite being a member of a diet club for 8 years!). My problem comes from the fact that my MIL, knowing we are in debt, will buy us food or empty her cupboards/freezer and pass on free food to us. We both hate seeing food go to waste, and MIL threatens to throw it away if we attempt to refuse the food. We are so grateful for being provided with meat and potatoes etc, but she will also give us chocolates and biscuits, which are too tempting!
My problem is that if the stuffs not in the house I'm not bothered and don't crave the sweet stuff. However, if it's there, it's an excuse to eat it and eat it I do!
I would really like to join this thread and I might even be inspired to admit my weight in my sig and therefore give me motivation to lose the weight!

Thanks for the tip but i doubt my L & P would fit in 3 boxes that would fit in my bathroom. OH has a normal bathroom cabinet, with space left. I have one of them tall skinny cupboards, full from top to bottom. I think it maybe a "trying to heal myself thing" but no idea really.
whoopee dooooo on the apple at choir practice. How fab that you are in a choir, I love to sing, pity no one else does :rotfl: :rotfl: I am beginning think that no meal is a bad choice for me, its the constant eating thats the problem

Glad to have you with us. The girls are really FAB. No judgments on here. Hey we all in the same boat in this thread. I try to encourage us all to take, small easy doable steps, one at a time. I bet you like me and the rest of us, have in the past thought right. NO this NO that, I'm going to DO this and DO that. Only to fail miserably on all counts and go over board, go out ans spend and then eat everything in site. Its just all too much at one time. So just take it easy.
Look forward to reading your posts and chatting

Hi to bluejeans & co, i too am just embarking on losing weight & taking more exercise to lose XS weight put on (again!) but was very ill last year so know how it happened this time!!
As bluejeans said "the road is long" but remember if we travel a long road it is worth it when we arrive??!
My OH is very supportive & even tho he does say he can see my XS weight!! he is saying we will not buy choc, cake etc so its not there for me to eat, even tho he can eat Mars bars for England and not gain weight!!
Let's beat this once & for all girls (&boys too if there are any?)0 -

I laughed when I read this ... in my bathroom?? No Way! The boxes are huge and stacked in the corner of our bedroom where DH stubs his toe on them every now and then and scowls at me:rotfl:
I looooove love my singing... will pm you our choir website, there are some piccies of me from Dec last year
So... me today...
I managed my orange juice this morning; however failed slightly at lunch time by buying a packet of crisps... however on the money side it was good, because I used my boots advantage card to buy the crisps (along with some tweezers and a hairclip) I also got some paracetamol for a work colleague, who then paid me back cash, so I 'made' 13p (lol!)
The sun is shining here and it's lovely, but I hate working near shops, I've just been walking round people all chocked up with bags and bags of shopping, and I want to spend so much I nearly cried... is that just me?? However I not only resisted the temptation of borrowing some money to buy clothes, I also resisted the chocolate bars in boots; I still had 97p on the card to spend, but I only bought Shapers crisps for 37p... I walked past the chocolate yaaay... okay well I stood looking at it for 10 minutes, but I didn't get any.... :A :T
I'll probably have the craving all day now though and so eat terribly at the bbq tonight... and we're going away for the weekend on Thurs night, so I'll have to weigh in then instead of Sat morning:eek:
When does everyone else 'weigh in'?
Myself and DH (who is more overweight than me, but doesn't care:mad: ) have started a 'thing' with my Mum and Stepdad, where we all pay £1 a week to weigh in... if we gain weight we pay another £1... one month we have a 'healthy' meal at our house, the next month a healthy meal at their house, and the third month when we have 3 months weigh in money (£36 at least - usually more:o !!) we go out after weigh in for an unhealthy meal.. it's working really well, because my mum is the last person I want to tell I've put on weight again!!
I'd better get back to work now, my lunch break is nearly over. Have a great rest of the day all xxx
PS - Welcome to meb and QueenBess!!! xxPersonal challenge: Do without as much as possible to pay off £12k by 07/2009!!!:T

Hi Everyone, I have been reading this thread and love it, you're so open and having the same issues as me, so now I am going to try to do something about it as you are!
Bluejeans, you are amazing for starting and keeping this thread going! I will try to be good just for you! I don't want to let you down!
I lost two stone with Slimming world last year but just can't face a proper strict regime again so I think I will try to cut down on snacks and portion sizes at first!
I have a huge cupboard at work filled with biscuits and chocs that are free so it is unbelievably hard not to dive in everyday! but I will try!
I am about £9000 in debt not including my student loan (£18,000) but have set myself a £10 a day challenge, basically I try to only spend £70 a week on anything other than rent and bills, I've managed two weeks ok but this week has gone wrong already!
I can walk to work in 50mins but drive in which takes half hour so I really should drive, and I will from tomorrow!
I just need to stop making excuses to myself and get in gear!
Whew, I'm sorry for going on and on there, I just needed to own up to it all!
xx Luc xx0
