You are all doing so well :T :T :T
I've been out with work and eaten LOADS. Worse still I'm contemplating driving to work tomorrow because I will be tired0 -
Can't believe I am sharing this info on a thread which has just been bookmarked on Martin's e-mail...but at the same time am a very strong supporter of talking about this (sorry to those of you with sensitive natures!) because I firmly believe that it is not given enough coverage in day-to-day life...I guess its just not "pretty" enough!
I am totally familiar with the peas/sweetcorn thing (although I was told not to go near them in case they made me "bunged up" - seemingly the only way to un-bung me was for somebody medical to stick their fingers up into the hole in my tummy and manually remove them...strangely enough, that was enough to keep me from playing the trial and error route!!).
After my op, I was put on liquid aspirin and paracetomol and had to lie down when I took them, in order to stop gravity from shooting them through too quickly (things took between 15 mins and 5hrs to re-appear, and yes, I was often able to tell what I had eaten from what made an appearance in the bag!).
Yes, I was told that I had bowel cancer (I had all the symptoms, and a colonoscopy found something large and "cauliflower-ish" which suggested the worst). Once I came round from a double bowel re-section (with an ileostomy bag attached - basically, the difference is that an ileostomy is from the small intestine, therefore things are rather more "liquid", whereas a colostomy comes from the large intestine, once things have had water removed and are more "solid") it took a week to double-test everything they had removed and decide that it wasn't cancer... It was still one of the happiest days of my life, though - people were amazed that I wasn't more annoyed, but how can you be annoyed when you are un-diagnosed with cancer. They didn't give me a mis-diagnosis on purpose - everybody's human and can make a mistake, and finding out that it wasn't a ticking time bomb was one of the best days of my life...had I been able to get out of bed, I would have danced around the room!!

Would have been on earlier, but I pressed the button to intstal new service pack & haven't been able to use computer for ages!
First day for me... inspired by the thread so far;)
As I said before, need to use up some of the not so healthy food first.. just as a good DFW would so today's diet not wonderful, but no snacks, other than my morning banana and more importantly no  .
Sat here with my glass of water:eek:
I have tried to keep busy this evening..
a) to stop me wanting food & drink
b) to keep moving... even if it's just a little :rotfl:
so have done some gardening & spent the last 2 hours clearing out old papers... may file the rest tomorrow.
Have also decided to work my way through all the lotions & creams still in my cupboards from when I was a spendaholic.
Might improve my looksbut also may keep me a bit busy and I may not fancy food if my hands are covered in scented lotion! (who am I trying to fool!)
pip
i also have a creams and potion thing going, or should i say I used to have one going. i have posted in the past about my "Avon" addiction. I thought, i would wake up looking like i was 16 once i had applied:rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl: and considering i am 51, that is a pretty tall order for any kind of cream :rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl: , WELL DONE on keeping your self busy and doing some sorting out. you will see from my sig, i have done one sort out session.

To all my new found bestest of friends
As I unfold my story to you all, you will be seeing that i have a lot of "things" going on. But as i read all your posts, i realize i am not alone. I cannot put into words, how you have all helped me start to get all this off my mind and begin to live some sort of a normal life.
I would also like to say a VERY BIG THANKYOU TO MARTIN. As without him this site would not be up and running and i would also like to thank all that help him with it. also i would like to thank all the fabulous people, who replied to my questions and gave me support and help when i first arrived on this site. And its all free and all to help us on the road to a better and more piece full life.
I have to say night night now, as i cant see the screen for tears. i wish you all the strength that i have gained from all of your posts, and all the posts from all other threads.
Love you all, you have all set me on the road to financial and non food obsessed freedom, the journey will be long but with your help and support i know i can beat this.

Skint Lynne, thanks for the stern warning not to eat chocolate! I resisted... just! Hope your family member is better soon. :A
Well done everyone on the lists, abstinence, good wine, putting crisps back, freezing flapjacks, sunbathing, health advice and everything! :T
I've been pretty good the last day or two, haven't had any chocolate apart from a funsize Snickers last night, and have done a fair bit of walking and not spending. No booze either, which is good. Although I am jealous of all the wine. Who was it that was saving her birthday wine for a special occasion? Hope you identify a suitably special date very soon...
Sorry I haven't been here for about 3-4 pages but things are very busy and I am about to go on a work trip for a few days. Food wise it is going to be very tricky! Just a quick one before work,
Another bright new sunny day here, so might get a short walk in!!
forced myself to have breakfast - using up the cereal from grandchildren's last visit!
List for today
1 eat breakfast
2 walk for at least 15 mins
3 finish weeding garden
4 sort out 'home' filing
5 list a least 2 things on ebay
6 long bath - exfoliate, moisturise - using up lotions!!
and of course go to work.
reasons why it is cheaper to be slim No 2
So many more small clothes in charity shops than big sizes!
have a good day
