Evening Piglet, have i told you i have a pig tattoo ? OMG not leaving any traces of previous. This sooo scary and fabulous that other have my phobias to. And guess what i THINK I MAY BE "NORMAL" AFTER ALL. I rip the page out, which of course leaves torn edges that you can see. So I cover them over with a strip of opaque whit sticky tape (which of course i bought at the stationary shop) and but a piece write down where i have torn out the page. So that i can see "no trace" of what i have ripped out. OMG OMG OMG I'm so excited. YOU ARE ALL SO GOOD FOR ME THANKYOU SOOOOO MUCH

bubbles my daughter was extremely ill and without going into too much details, she had ulcerative colitis and had to have her bowel taken out. At her worst she was 5 n half stone. i said to her one day, pity they could not give you a fat transplant, just hook me up to you and Way Hey off we go. :rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl: Daughter is OK now. to be polite about it, after 10 months of wear a colostomy bag, they very cleverly connected her stomach to her bum, so that she did not have to wear her bag, as she was only 21 at the time.

Jo, I can understand where you are coming from with this post. A year ago, I was mis-diagnosed with bowel cancer and had to have "major surgery" which led to 5 months with an ileostomy bag before having a reversal op. Although my experience of the whole "bag" situation was temporary and short, it gave me an insight into a whole new world, and I am full of admiration for people who cope with this situation every day.

My weight dropped off when I got my bag (2 stone disappeared instantly) and I was put onto a diet of super-refined carbohydrates (white bread/pasta/rice and potatoes, plus cheese and butter/oil/fats). No fruit, no vegetables, and not drinking too much water because it "went through" so quickly. Lots of extra salt on everything I ate (marmite was encouraged!). The only way I could get near a fruit/veg was a Margherita pizza (as long as the tomato sauce was pip-free, it was considered good because it had a bread-y base and plenty of cheese!). It was like Gillian McKeith in reverse, and Weightwatchers worst nightmare!! After years of trying to keep an eye on what I ate, it was like the world was turned upside down!

Of course, after the reversal op, everything was reversed (and I quickly re-gained the lost weight!), but I still struggle with trying to cut down on salt...

I was one of the lucky ones (and it sounds like your daughter was, too). I feel for her age, though - I was mid-thirties and it still came as a h3ll of a shock to me...I'm not sure how I would have coped with it when I was younger...

Yay to the pig tattoo! Pigs rule!! snorting.gif

Of course you are normal - "ripping out" and "covering up" is totally normal...if it wasn't then I would have to worry about whether I was normal, and I'm absolutely sure that I am fine... rofll.gif

    Hi Girls,

Just checking in to let you all know that I have been good for the 2nd day running. Have been out late again, we've got a poorly family member so have been helping him out.

Should be back to normal soon.

Well done, Lynne - sorry to hear that you have a poorly family member, but well done for sticking to your routine and not allowing circumstances to spoil things for you! :T

Piglet thanks for sharing that, not many people would have shared that publicly, but it is a very very common thing, just people don't talk about it. Daughter still has issues, like goes to the loo about 5-6 times a day, but hospital tell her this is very good as it could be a lot worse. Cant take sugar coated tablets, as they are "out" before they have time to dissolve, peas, sweetcorn, come out as they went in etc. i am sure you will be familiar with them all.

OMG did they say you had bowel cancer do the op and then found out you didn't ?   or you had bowel cancer and they missed it.
