Looks like i have missed out on it.I have one reserved at both Beckton and Ilford stores.I went to the Beckton store just now and used the self service machine which brought up a price of £499.99:eek:

I went to CS and said to them Why is it i reserved this this morning at the price of £319.99 but now you are trying to sell it to me at 500 nicker. He had to get the manager(at least i think she was) as even in their book it's £469.99(another Tesco's overcharging on our hands;) ).She said it was £319.99 up until last night but now it was £469.99(i think even i'm confused now) and from tomorrow it's £439.99 and she can only sell it to me for that price as i have reserved the item and not the price.I once again said i reserved it for £319.99 so she phoned someone who said it had never been that price and then said that to me.But i said you just told me it was that price up until last night:rolleyes:

Anyway i knew i wasn't going to get anywhere so asked for the head office number so i could call them but they are shut so it will have to be tomorrow now(hopefully i'll at least get a voucher or two out of them for the trouble;) )

Oh and before i left i said to her well how about letting me look at your RO list then instead:D
What RO list we don't have one she said to which i replied yes you do every Argos has an RO list Ilford even said i could look at it when it comes out on Saturday(don't quote me i know i said this before but this is what just one employee told me).Well they played dumb and said they didn't have one so in the end i had to leave:wall:

that wouldnt work since they state the price you pay is what is stated in the store no matter what it is online or r/r. Just try another store which hasnt updated its prices yet.
  • Me again....

If you really want one at the Argos price, call Argos R&R in the morning and confirm that your local store has them in stock and the price is £319.99. Then go to your local Comet or Curry's, again confirm they have stock then tell you'd like to buy it on their price promise. They will call the R&R number to check you're telling the truth and then they will call their head office to obtain an authorisation code and sell you the Tom Tom at £307 (eg. £319.99 less 10%).
I know it works as I've just got back from Comet and purchased one more.
    Good luck!!

  • Well, perhaps someone should tell the Comet store on Botley Road in Oxford. Having agreed to price match, they then gave a load of old flannel about "it being more on the website, must be Argos' mistake, can't do it with a difference of more than £100, blah, blah, blah......." Anyway, took great delight in pointing out the fact that they do not honour their price match in front of the other customers! To top it all, Argos is right next door!!!

Matters not, went to Curry's (two doors away) and they called the RnR line, and price-matched. Forgot to get the extra 10% though - doh! Will call to query in the morning. Still got a printer for half price whileI was there. Benefit is that I can take it back to Curry's if required, unlike the one I bought from Argos. Let's hope it's popular on eBay then! ;)

All this, and £20 and some vouchers on the way from Persil for a pair of Mrs P's trousers bleached by their tablets!

Btw, thanks a bunch Bladesharp - I've been after one of these for ages and this almost justified it to my darling wife! :rotfl: :j
  • Can someone please tell me what is the number to RnR????

    cheers

I suppose that's right as after i had rang R&R and it was still £320 i called the store and spoke to the manager again who said that same thing even though it clearly says today's price:rolleyes:
