    Me again....

If you really want one at the Argos price, call Argos R&R in the morning and confirm that your local store has them in stock and the price is £319.99. Then go to your local Comet or Curry's, again confirm they have stock then tell you'd like to buy it on their price promise. They will call the R&R number to check you're telling the truth and then they will call their head office to obtain an authorisation code and sell you the Tom Tom at £307 (eg. £319.99 less 10%).
I know it works as I've just got back from Comet and purchased one more.
    Good luck!!

    Elliot,
I'd get yourself back to Currys for a bit more money!
    10% less than £319.99 is £288.00 (ie. 319.99 - 31.99).
Get one at £320 and Argos won't like it but get one at £288 and Currys would be livid!

I bought two earlier in Birmingham for £319 each and asked the store two reserve me another two in Swindon, got to Swindon tonight and the price has been adjusted back to £469, I almost fell over when the cashier said how much the corrected price was. I left them :-)

    Smashed,
Even though the R&R quoted it as only being £319 they don't legally have to sell them to you at that price, as misleading as it is, its only an offer, "invitation to treat" only when you are about to pay does it become a "contract" Hence Argos told you the new price and you declind. Most companies would offer the product at the advertised price as a good will gesture thats all.

    Sorry.

    Elliot

Just out of interest why do you need 4?
Are you going to resell them and stop other members of our fine community from getting these bargains?

Isn't it less 10% of the difference between the two prices?
    i.e. £449 (Currys) minus £319 (argos) equals £130. 10% of this being £13.
    £319-£13 being £306

    Hi Khizman,

I don't think I stopped anybody getting them? Unless that is someone from here tried the same argos that I purchased the two from earlier??

The first two I bought, were for the wife and I. I travel between Swindon and Brum everyday and so fed up with sitting on the M5 in traffic that I thought the TMS function can divert me arround it. The second is for my wife, who has just started a new job that involves her driving to unfamilar towns. The other two that I tried to get were for the old chap and a mate who's a field engineer who also works for Nokia.

    Hope that answers your question...

    Cheers
    Elliot

PS. I was in Tescos the other day and noticed that the joints of beef had been miss priced, so I bought "one" because thats all I needed. I could bought all four of them, but hey that wouldn't be fair on other MSErs

It's 10% of the difference not the overall price - £13.
  • anyone managed to get one today or is the game sadly over?

The price has been amended on their system, and their ring and reserve so looks like game over :(
