i got the gps working now, drove around for a while and at first it was jumpy then the fox was pretty perfect. i have a ericsson t68i.

Got a whole load of downloads as well from a guy off ebay, voices, points of interest, for only £2.05.

You can get speed camera warnings here

It's not supported mate. I found out the dont even support the K750i so I didn't bother buying in the end.

Has anyone had problems with the maps ? So far I have found about fifeteen streets listed wrongly where I stay.Plus streets listed which actually lanes.I have reported it to tom tom but very unimpressed at this sloppiness.I had heard the tomtom was the best sat nav to buy.
Anyone found the same thing ?

I rang and reserved on the friday 2 tom toms at Stamford store, but ooohed and aaahed as to whether to get one or not waited till the wife came home, told her and she said go for it. it was now 1700 store closed at 1730 so missed out.

next morning wife said to ring them and see what they would do so rang the call and reserve line but price had gone upto £469 then rang the store and spoke to the manager who told me i would be charged at the price it was reserved at and he said there is 2 pages of price changes on his computer and would honour it at the price of £319.99.

so got one and am chuffed to bits!

don't buy the disks on ebay visit these websites instead they are all FREE!

http://www.skux.net/tomtom/menubuilder2/index.php this is an excellent site for changing your splash screens - this is how to make your own splash screen

If you want to make them by yourself, this is how:

    1. Select photo
    2. Rotate 90 degrees clockwise
    3. Use any program to re-size (i.e. photoshop) size 320 x 240 pixels
    4. Save pic as splash.bmp on desktop
    5. Plug in ttgo
    6. Open ttgo in my computer
    7. You will see a file called splash.bmp RENAME it to splash1.bmp
    8. Copy the new splash.bmp from your desktop straight on to ttgo
    9. Start your Go (can you see the new splash screen ?)

it is also a good idea to maybe incorporate onto your splash screen ie something along the lines of ' STOLEN FROM (car reg or your name and number etc)

    hope this helps someone :j :j :j

  • Anyone got one of these and wants to sell it at a small profit let me know, tried desperatley to get one but manager of Argos was having none of it even though I reserved it at the bargain price. I loved to get hold of one for my son who passed his driving test last week, it would make a great Christmas present.
    Cheers

reservation isnt a contract so the price you pay is the price it is on the day except for some silly managers who do it sometimes for goodwill:P

in that case WHY do Argos quote the price......its actually an invitation to treat and to be honest to the point of making a joke of the Sale of Goods Act.

I am annoyed with Argos....used their stupid R&R "service" 6 times....net result is that surprise surprise EVERY time the price has been much higher when i get to the store....this means I waste my time and petrol.....well no more as I sick of this crap attitude towards the customer and I have lodged a complaint to Argos and I am seeking compensation for wasted time and petrol....think this wont work...trust me it will.....I run my own company and would not treat my customer with this much contempt....RANT over!

well my boyfriends tomtom he bought is now broke ! we are taking it back today and asking for a refund as far as he is concerned it is rubbish! Never thought I would hear him say that as he has wanted a tom tom for ages but half the strets were wronfg and he kept losing the signal when it was cloudy- my money saving tip is dont buy it. Now to tackle Argos to get our money back.Even at £319 its not worth it.
