    That is a lovely dress!

I ordered mine from Milly on the 27th Oct. It wasn't on Landy's or Milly's site so I emailed shedloads of pics to them both. Landy said no - but Milly said yes, so I took the plunge and ordered.
I chased confirmation and they came back on the 31st saying they were having difficulty sourcing the lace and their tech department was onto it...)

Okay after a flurry of emails back and forth I have had confirmation today that they cannot get the lace. However, the manager this had been escalated to has a friend whose factory will make the lace for my dress!! Apparently it won't be an exact match but 80% true to the original :T

They haven't said it will cost more either :D

i agree - totally gorgeous!!! the dress i want is similar at the bottom with the skirt opening to reveal the lace. Its nice to see the workmanship on that! It makes me feel a bit more confident about ordering. I am awaiting a quote as we speak. I only found the dress yesterday but i have been mostly following the custom dress thread on YAYW.

to those of you getting custom dresses, did you have to find loads of pics or did they appear to know the dress from pics you sent? See, part of mine is from a pretty big designer. (I am mixing up a couple of dresses) but the bits i want the same are essentially the most important elements. but its really difficult finding pics. i am worried cos the ONE pic i can find, it looks very different on model to how it did on me iyswim?

Thanks ladies! cant wait to show it off, only 8 wee months left !!

I only had one pic of my dress magicgirl, they made it really well from that even though I didnt even have a pic of the back of it I just told them what I wanted. I've put the pic that I sent to them up on flickr now so you can see how close it is to the original. But like I said, mine looks pink in the pic but its not the colour is same as the original!

Just about to request swatches of material and then going ahead and placing my order with Milly. It's quite a large order so I can only hope and pray that it is all done by May latest as the wedding is in June!!

Very excited to read all the amazing feedback online about the workmanship Milly provides :)

  • Hi,

Does anyone know if Milly Bridal are affiliated with myweddingdressforless.com? I have seen the perfect dress on that website and, at 213 pound, think I am gonna go for it.

    Thanks
  • Hello Mrs Davies 2b

i don't think they are linked, Milly are known as the cinderella bridal shop on ebay so i wouldn't imagine they have any other names.

I've just had my dress from Milly, had it custom made so a dress featured on x factor 2008. It's not a traditional dress, we're getting married alone on a P&O cruise so i wanted something a little different and i fell in love with this dress, going to be great in the wind up on deck.

Here's my story in pics, i don't think they are all in order, but it gives a good idea of what you get back.

I nearly got to the point of cancelling at one stage, they couldn't achieve what i wanted with their test fabric so as the original was over £2k i just took the risk and told them to make the final dress and it's turned out great. Fits perfect too. £180 extremely well spent, money saved can go on designer shoes now!

as i'm new i can't post links so copy and paste the below into your brower but take out all the spaces before you hit enter

    hope it works!!
