I have ordered my bridesmaids dresses from Milly and expect to get them in about a week or so. I ordered my wedding dress from Landy bridal and it arrived today and the wedding dress is fab! Will let you know about milly's ones when they arrive x

I received 3 fabric swatches from Milly today and I have to say I am very impressed with the quality of the material. I know that it's only a small square but it looks great (not shiny!) and feels very thick and tough, not flimsy at all! The bridesmaid one was a bit lighter but the 2 i ordered for my dress are really lovely and heavy!

  • Hi everyone, I must say that I was going to go with LAndy for my wedding dress, but have just received an email from Milly and I it seems to me that they are more professional. I sent the same email to Landy and Milly, and Milly's contained far more detail. Even down to every material they will use to make my dress including the weight, where it is from etc etc.. Another thing that has swayed me is that they send you photos during the stages of making your dress. In the email they even said that they will remake the toile 3 times to make sure everything is right, and if the beading is wrong they will take the whole lot off and start again. Just thought I would add this incase anyone was in two minds. I am ordering my dress at the start of May so will let you all know what the process is like, Tiger xx

    Tiger,

You have chosen a dress that isn't on Milly's website, is that right? I'm just asking because the dress I like isn't one of their one's. Landy have it on their website but I'm ordering my bridemaids dresses from Milly and wanted to order my dress from them too.

Were they happy to make your dress from a picture?

    Thanks!

    Hi there!

Milly have just sent me some pics of this dress that I asked them to price for me. They had made 2 before and are charging $320 (which is roughly £220).

If anyone wants to see the pictures, PM me and I'll email them to you (I don't know how to put them into my post!).

They are also going to make this flower girls dress for $50 (app £35), in my chosen colours.

And can do this dress for $290 (app £195).

As you probably know my daughter has fallen for a Jenny Packham priced at £2300!!!
I emailed pics of the dress to Landy and Milly, Landy just said they couldn't do it but Milly said they could and gave me two quotes for 'synthetic' silk and 100% silk, the most expensive being £500!!! We're waiting for sample swatches from Milly, the only problem Ive had so far is trying to find out how to get a sample of the 'real' silk, not sure if I've cracked it till the samples arrive:confused:
I think it gives more confidence that Milly send photos at each stage so you have control of what they do and can alter things if you feel they are not right.
For a saving of £1800 I think it's well worth the risk and are just waiting for the swatches before ordering.

I think getting the pictures is worth paying a little more I picked at so many things to have changed that they changed these things straight away and sent me new pictures to approve, good luck with the dress x

    Ooooo I'm excited now!!!:j

I was thinking these sites were too good to be true but reading the posts on here have swayed it for me :T

I don't feel guilty any more, as my Aunt is a dress maker but cannot even come any where close to the prices on Milly Bridal

Watch this space, I'm after a custom made one :D
