What a coincidence. I've just made a pizza base with Tesco's own plain flour. I usually use expensive bread flour, but this one turned out OK. In fact it was easier to roll out and not so pooffy (DD's word I'm sure you'll understand!). The kids said they preferred it this way. :T

I have a small bag of almost out-of-date plain flour that I am desperate to get rid of. Don't know why I bought it really, but as soon as I did I couldn't find anything to use it for. Please can someone post or direct me to the pizza base recipe?
    :D I haven't bogged off yet, and I ain't no babe :D

I never thought of using plain flour. Bettabuy flour is cheaper than morrisons strong flour so it would cost even less to make AND I could roll it out instead of needing DH to do it. It's too springy for me to manage with the strong flour.:o

I've found that too - although I find the springyness varies. It was a whole lot more manageable today - I might even try value flour next!

I mix the yeast according to manufacturers instructions with plain flour and then add 3 tablespoonfuls of olive oil per 8oz of flour
