Most cinemas will do discounts for students, but if you live near a Vue the lastminute.com Vue cinema standby offer may well be cheaper:

Also, hopefully most people know this, but if you are a student you should get a discount or exemption from your council tax.

I walked past Schuh shoe shop on my way to work this morning and they have a big "10% student discount" sign in the window. I imagine this would be the same in all branches.Thank you to all who post comps and good luck to all who enter :j0

Specsavers are giving a 25% discount on frames and lenses at the moment which is the same as the standard student discount. However, if you are a student and are considering purchasing a new pair of glasses, it may be wise to hang on as the student discount will rise to 30% around the 8th (ish) of September. If you are lucky, as I was, the very nice staff may offer you the student discount at 30%, before it is officially available.I am looking for a pair of Varifocals at about £130, so the saving is certainly worthwhile and it looks like it is even cheaper than Dolland and Aitchison which is offering 50% off selected frames. If you can get the latest M&S Magazine, it has a voucher for20% off frames and lenses at D and A, although it is not valid on sale prices, so the choice is yours.
I hope that the above is helpful and if anyone knows of any other discounts for this(rather mature) student, please share them.0 -
Thanks for the info about McDonalds - I wasn't actually aware of that one at all. Also I would be interested to know if the 10% discount at Poundland that somebody mentioned previously is actually true, because it would be v embarrassing to ask if they do student discount and be refused!
I don't know if QS the clothes shop is in all parts of the country but I got 20% off there recently (and on sale stock too which I'm sure shouldn't have been allowed).
Also at Odeon Cinemas their student ticket is £5 and I don't think it matters what time of day it is.0 -
