Latest frozen food offers have been incredible!!! Had 40% off a lot of great things!!
Their salami pizzas that have been 3 for £1.50 lately are gorgeous - really really nice bases and they generally taste great! I love them! much better than most frozen pizzas - I'd imagine the others are nice too - although the french bread baguettes I got were weird - tasted like cream cheese on the topping.
their strawberry icecream is delicious! Really good quality proper icecream - think carte d'or but really cheap!the vanilla is very good too and even cheaper - has real vanilla in it.
erm.. frozen chicken breast is really good - £1.50 for 5 pieces - very good quality and lots of meat for the price - the marinated turkey is good too.
Their frozen oven chips are great - 40pish and really nice.
garlic bread is yummy - especially the herby stuff - really nice and cheapand the onion rings are great..
erm what else?? so much good yummy food..
beef turds, as we've lovingly renamed them here - they're kebab/beef things that are delicious. come in a green/red bag.. 1kg for about £2.50..
lidl salami is good - the stuff in the white round packet is my fave.. I bought one of the complete sticks of their salami and couldn't eat it - it smelled so badmuch prefer the presliced stuff..
think that's enough for now.. heh.0 -

dfarry wrote:My personal favourites are the walnut or vanilla ice cream, egg mayonnaise sandwich filler, the thin crust pizza's (except the ham and mushroom one), the fruit juices, general hygiene products such as handwash, mouthwash, toothpaste etc..
I heartily agree with the rest of your post, but the mouthwash (Dentalux I think it's called) truly is revolting and leaves an awful aftertaste in the mouth! IMO of course but my gf agrees and we poured 90% of the bottle down the sink! The tinned mushy peas aren't brilliant either but the fruit juices are fantastic.
I guess the moral of this is that there are bargains to be had but not everything is worth getting.
As an aside, I tend to get my mouthwash from somewhere like Savers as the prices for toiletries there are really good, and branded stuff too. But that's another thread I suppose!

Does anyone know if Lidl accept payment by cheque???0
-
No, they won't take cheques...cash or debit cards seems to be the choice. Other methods of payment are costly to the retailer and so they don't use them as the knock on effect would be to inflate prices. I find it helps me too that they don't accept visa/mastercard etc, so I stick with cash and have to think about what I am buying.0

Shame I haven't got a Lidl near me, I quite fancy a wander round their isles.Sexkitten
Good things come to those who wait......... but the best will be taken by those who got there first

I thought it was just me who didn't like their milk
I like their shortbread, fruit juices, premium rolls, some of their bread, huge bags of crisps, lemon/orange chews, chocolate raisins, orange (jaffa to you and me) cakes, mint imperials and cheap batteries!0 -
After quite a few trips, I've got a long list of what's OK and what's not. Fruit juice is much cheaper than Asda (1.5 litres of apple juice for the price of a litre) and they do an odd tasting, chilled, cherry drink that is strangely addictive (in our house, anyway). Cheese is also cheaper, especially the parmesan. Ice cream is very nice and so are most of the biscuits.
There aren't many things that are off my list - potato waffles is one. I don't like them much anyway but my kids all agreed that they didn't like them. Then again they don't like Tescos waffles either.0
