Call Virgin - I think that I got 0% cheques from them when I had a Virgin card, as long as you used them within a certain time period they were interest free for ages.0

Yes and I think you can transfer the money from virgin straight into your bank account over the phone, then you could use your debit card to pay the loan.0 -

Thank you both for helping me out with that....seemed a shame to waste £2k of 0% credit when I have loan money I could shove on it:pI really need to sort out a new signature!0 -
I think when I did it I did the transfer into my account over the phone with Virgin...just give them a quick call to check its the same with cheques coz I wouldn't want you to get a charge or anything, I'm sure you won't but best to check. Don't forget you pay a transfer fee too so you won't be able to transfer the whole limit or the transfer fee will take you over IYSWIM?
Also don't even be a day late with payment as they are really strict and will take the whole interest free period off you, many have been stung with that on here.
Hope you sort it0 -
Morning:hello:
Thought my girls wouldn't be going with their dad for the night, but he's driving down so I still get my quiet evening!! No that they're hard work or anything, but when they're not here I don't need to bother cooking and can just potter about on PC as much as I like without thinking I should be entertaining them;)
I must ring Virgin later about the cheques and hopefully pay one to my curretn account, then use that to pay to loan.
The snow's still here and it was clear and darn freezing last night so quite icy out there. I refuse to go anywhere in the car:rolleyes: so hoping it thaws a bit soon so I can get out for some food.
Here's a list I think of jobs for today....- Ironing (or tomorrow)
- Hoover lounge (hoover out waiting for me;) )
- Clean bathroom
- Tidy lounge/girls room
- College work (while it's quiet!)
- Do meal plan for next week
- Update spending diary (not that I've spend hardly a thing this week!)
Anyway, must go and get started...the more I do now, the less guilty I'll feel when I sit on my backside this afternoon on here:rotfl:I really need to sort out a new signature!0 -
I haven't done much at all this weekend - feel a right lazy moo:o Girls are having roast dinner today at the ex in-laws so saves me feeding them tonight, always good!
I've just cleaned the kitchen floor, but other than that I really haven't done a lot. I'm not feeling very motivated at all right now. Even though I'm hardly spending anything, I'm not actually making any money which is annoying me - I want to be adding money to my holiday fund.
I've done next week's meal plan, and I don't really need much food, which is good as I'm hopeless and won't get the car out in the snow! Even though the main roads here are all fine, my little road is still white and I don't want to drive on it! My excuse is I've only been driving 2 years, never have driven in snow, so don't want to try it;)
Anyway, I should get off here and do some work....my books are open on the table, but I just avoid it, which then makes me feel more cross with myself for being so useless:mad:
Ok, off I go......I really need to sort out a new signature!0 -
Well I've had a nice, quiet day. The girls are back now and have fed them with cheese on toast, very glad they had a roast earlier to save me cooking! Spaghetti on toast for me later on i think, use up the spag I didn't have last night.
My stupid Crohn's has been playing up recently, very sore and feel as if I look 6m pregnant!!! (Obviously I'm not:rotfl:) So it's probably good that I've had a few days off work to rest. Only this week left then half term-woohoo:T
I even sat at the PC and did some darn college work this afternoon. I really must get this finished and can think about the Foundation degree in September. It's just the NVQ is sooooo boring....
So....another NSD, that's 7 out of my 14...not bad!!! I need to nip and get some food soon - think I'll go tomorrow after school. I've done the meal plan and we don't need too much, £30 max??
Off to do a bit of work before Dancing on Ice:pI really need to sort out a new signature!0 -
Hiya all,
Weather nasty tonght - was going to go to our big Tesco, about a 10m drive away, but left the house and it was all steety rain, so I decided to stay in our village and went to the Tesco Express (how expensive?!) and Co-op (much better). Altogether spent £20 and should last us til the weekend....so that's helped my grocery budget;)
Sold a cd on Amazon, so £5 profit. Also 2 items on ebay, one buy it now at £5 and another almost £3...ah cooool that's £13 for the holiday fund. Should have £100 left over this week in my spending account - not ben anywhere to spend! Car is due it's MOT this month though, so hoping that won't take too much of my money:o
Scratchcards done, made fairy cakes after school (well E did most of the work) and counting today as a NSD as the £20 spent was counted from Grocery budget - I didn't buy any extras, such as magazines!! My unnecessary spends have been pretty non-existent this month....:D
Must get to PO tomorrow, have a pile of things to send (2 ebay items from last week too, that never got sent cos of the darn snow)
Early night tonight, tired alreadyI really need to sort out a new signature!0 -
NSD today. I've been on a farm trip with school - fun but tiring!
Spent more of my grocery budget as nipped to Tesco, now the snow's gone. But I think I'll be able to get away with not going this weekend, and we're on half term next week so won't need all stuff for packed lunches.
Nothing else to report, off to make chocolate truffles for E's teacher's leaving party on friday.I really need to sort out a new signature!0 -
