Some sites have bundle deals with the new 80GB Console.
Game - £309.99 with either Battlefield Bad Company, GTA 4 or Beijing 2008. There are also more deals available that are more expensive than these.
Dixons - £299.99 with either Metal Gear Solid 4, Haze or Wall E which means you are getting the game for free!! Again there are a few other packages available.
These seem like really good deals and i have cancelled my pre order and am gona go for one of these now!! For those that are still wanting the 40GB console, just wait a bit as with these great deals the 40GB will have to come down in price soon to get rid of any remaining stock.0 -
didn't they make the newer versions of the ps3 use less power and produce less heat?0

Went to HMV today and saw that they had a ps3 80gb bundle which included call of duty modern warfare and an extra controller for £345.
With some work vouchers i can get the whole lot at £311. is that a good deal so far?
have also heard that the 80gb version come with a ps2 emmulator installed, which would be able to play ps2 games.
had a look on other web pages to find that only certain ps2 games will work with the emmulator on the new 80gb ps3, the 60gb played most, but not all.0 -

You can buy a 250gb HD from places like scan to place in the PS3, my view would be buy the cheaper model and upgrade yourself....
I did the upgrade, very easy ;-)0 -

would agree with that , just bought a 40gb for £234 + Quidco delivered from newitts (sold out now) ,will upgrade the hard drive as and when , son didnt want the duel shock controller as it would just use extra battery power with the wireless controller,
just keep hunting around there are good deals out there .0 -
Any idea on the best place to buy 15 PS3s?
My friend needs them for his work as they're giving them as prizes.
ThanksCath x

Can anyone confirm this? According to the websites that I have seen they mention software emulation in the 80GB version. I only want it for a few games, such as Buzz and SingStar so I'm not that bothered about the odd hang or crash if the s/w emulation isn't 100% full proof.0
