I had one of these (assuming it's an electric one?) and could not get the hang of it atall.
I ended up selling it on ebay. I have seen those container type ones that you slice the bread in.
Good tip about the mixes.Grocery Challenge £139/240 until 31/01

those bread mixes have been that price for quite while in morrisons. Unless they have changed it since i read the ingredaints few months back it did contain hydrogrenated fat so i haven't bought it. but if that not in it any more i'll buy a couple too keep in as a just incase.0

I only tend to use bread mixes which can be made using the 'rapid bake' setting (1hr 50min on my Panasonic BM). Could you please let me know if these bread mixes are suitable for this setting (it usually says on the pack)?0

I apologize in advance if you all know about this stuff already, but I was in Aldi last week and they had bread mixes made by their "The Pantry" range. I can't remember exactly how much they were but I think it was 68p for a large bag of mix. They had white, wholemeal and multigrain. I got the multigrain and made it last night and it was absolutely fabulous! The packet made two HUGE loaves weighing 850g each and they were really easy to make - I used my Kenwood dough hook to do the kneading and the whole process only took about 3 hours from initial mixing to taking the hot bread out of the oven. Given that my local bakery type bread shop charges £1.50 for a large homestyle baked loaf I reckon that the Aldi stuff is really MSE! I sometimes find that bread mixes taste a bit yeasty but this was really nice!Jane
