I bought the Multi Grain mix today (green bag, made by LANDGUT), was 99p for a 1000g bag which makes 2 loaves.
It says to use 'Normal/Browing:Middle or Dark' on the back of the bag?
As I assume this is for continental breadmakers would you bake this on a large loaf, whole wheat and medium colour setting ( I have a Morphy Richards fastbake)?
I have used all of Lidl's bread mixes and they turn out perfectly each time. I have a Breville Worral Thompson machine and use the dark setting. However, I do add 2 teaspoons of bread enhancer as it produces a less dense loaf.. You can but this from an Ebay Shop (or Lakeland but it is much dearer)0 -
I love the Lidl bread mixes

I have a AWT machine coming out to me in Spain In June, ut having read a review on it in the Daily Mail, I did get a bit panicky. Thank goodness someone else has one and it works OK. (Tizzy if you have any helpful hints re AWT breadmaker, please PM me)
At the moment I use Lidl mixes in a borrowed machine and they turn out fine, but I use half a packet to make a small loaf0 -
hi
sorry if this question has been asked before, did a search but couldn't find anything.
bought some packets of bread mix (only 30p in Tesco) but when I read the packet it says it makes a 2lb loaf.
my breadmaker make small 1lb loaf or large 11/2 lb loaf
so can I use all the packet of mix or will the loaf be too big and make a mess in the breadmaker?0 -

I dont think it would be too big but a larger loaf would need a longer baking time. I'd weigh out half the packet and add for the 1lb loaf0 -
I find it just as easy to make packet bread mix by hand even easier if you use a hand mixer with a dough hookBlessed are the cracked for they are the ones that let in the light

I've been buying the hovis granary 2lb bags of mix (35p in Asda) and my breadmaker is only supposed to be for a 1.5lb loaf. I've had no trouble! I find if I make a smaller loaf it's useless for sandwiches.
I'd give it a go if I were you - failing that let the breadmaker do the hardwork and then pop it in a loaf tin in the oven just for baking.
good luck

I had the same thought about a small loaf, hadn't thought about cooking in the oven, gr8 idea thanks
just had the vision of the bread maker full of bread stuck to the lid  and trying to clean it0 -
Dear experienced breadmakers I have a bread making machine and successfully make my bread from Lidls packet mixes. I want to make some bread rolls using the same packet mixes, I know I can do the mix in the breadmaker, but at what stage do I take the dough out, do I cut the uncooked dough or just tear off pieces and how big should the uncooked rolls be, I want them to end up after cooking as quite small, sort of tangerine size, can the uncooked rolls go straight onto a baking tray or would it be better to put individual ones into a 12 hole pie/tart tin, what temp and how long should I cook them for. What else do I need to do/know/ask and do you have any other tips please0
