Good idea about the laser eye op when you are debt free, hopefully it will be a motivation for him.

Sorry for just leaping on to your thread like this but my OH started as a retained firefighter, and then had laser eye thing done. Got a special deal for it as he is in fireservice. Now he is just about to start his training as a full time fire fighter.

Might be worth your OH looking into being retained in your area. It would help fulfil his dream a bit.

    Hi All

Another sick free day today, and the headache went by early morning, rained all day tho so that was bit miserable but my member of staff bought me in cake which was GORGEOUS so that made it all better xx

Wannabe- Dont apologise hun! Really helpful of you. I think from what OH has read up he'd have the same kind of eyesight requirement for retained. He used to be a retained but that was before his eyes went to pot, but worth investigating none the less. Thanks for the thought.

Other than that nowt major happening today.Updated our snowball which puts us at 52 months before being debt free given what we've currently got spare, which is such a depressing thought! But then again it is nice to see the money go down, and with the next payment which goes out on the 5th, can knock another £150 off :)

Am gna try for an early night tonight as woke up really needing another 3 hours kip, slept really lightly so felt a bit knackered... we shall see what happens this evening... in case something entertains me LOL

OH has also listed his car up for sale again on another website so we'll see if anything bites from there.

    Hi Bella -

Thats so dreadful about your interview, I mean who phones up the day AFTER and says it was yesterday. I mean at least phone at the time at which you were meant to be there to see if you're running late.
I hope the bigger boss gets back to you real soon, maybe worth another email. Is it an internal promotion?
Try not to feel too down about it..... I strongly (well more so now) believe that everything happens for a reason, which is sometimes hard to see at first but no matter what it will always lead to the best option for you. So stay positive. Chin up and tits out! (LOL my work slogan... obv' not to my customers!)
And top marks for weight loss thats fantastic! Has it felt like you've been trying or just made small changes etc?

To answer your q, im currently 10 weeks but feels like ive been pregnant for longer, the weeks just seem to drag LOL. Sounds like you really suffered, poor thing. Another question (and if too personal, dont answer!) Did you breastfeed?

I'm hoping thats it for the sickness too, had another perfectly fine day although I am feeling pretty tired. Think that is mainly because I've worked 4 days straight (which isnt long to office workers I know) but I dont get two days off together...and previous few weeks had been lucky and had extra days holiday, and only worked 2 or 3 days straight.
Oh well just 2moro to get through and then day off :)
Also having a works night out on tuesday which we're all really looking forward to, hopefully less then £30 after present buying etc.

Wanted to offer a charity event in my store for Macmillan. Not sure if anyone has heard but they run a coffee morning fund raiser every year, and where better to host one than a tea and coffee shop!?
My line manager really spat on the idea though, saying we could get rammed with loads of people! ISNT THAT THE POINT!?
It's a double winner really. My shop is off the beaten track so gives us the chance to promote where we are, get to raise money for a really good cause (my work colleague's best friend recently died for cancer) and it's just a generally nice thing to do...
Like squeezing blood from a stone!Thing is we have coffee available for free all day for people to taste anyway (we're retail not catering) so cant see the problem myself!
I've decided I'm gonna do it anyway and just go over her head. Going to contact my head office tomorow and lay out my plan for it.... if only 4 people turn up, thats 4....
Was just more anoyed at her complete disregard for it.... but oh well there are just some people like that in the world i guess.

Hi CAFC well the head of HR has sent confirmation to me acknowleging my complaint and he is waiting for a report from the girl who was dealing with the vacancies manager. My arguement with it is i chased it up last thursday and friday an was told someone would contact me, they contacted me on the tuesday saying i had missed it but they could interview me at 2:30 this was about 12:40, bearing in mind i wasnt dressed i didnt have anyone to watch little one and no car to get there, i think at least if they had of rang me on the monday i would have missed that one but could have made it for 2:30 on the tuesday arghhhhh!!! they make me mad, anyway i'll keep you updated.

thats the problem when you find out your pregnant so early on it drags, i found out when i was 4 weeks and at 5 weeks i was in hospital on a drip cause i was so sick, i did breast feed but because i was anemic i didnt have any milk so he wasnt getting anything he dropped from 6:10 to 5:13 in 2 days so i felt so guilty for starvin him i put him on the bottle straight away, bottles less painful to haha!!!

I think you should do your coffee morning sounds a lovely idea, at the end of the day its gonna get people in your store, and people love charity your boss must be a bit numb not to realise this is good for business as well as being for a wonderfull cause.

I hope you have a good day at work and look forward to your rest tomorrow you deserve it! xx

well having a cr&p day so far.
Woke up, used the loo and found some small traces of blood...
Not gna ring midwife just yet as was only a real tiny amount, and havent had any since... plus if something is gna happen, we wont be able to change it, so going to rest up today and spend the day on the sofa and running off to the loo to check.

So all in all today, i dont care what happens with anything, money or anything, i just want this baby safe. we're 11 weeks pregnant today and im trying really hard not to just burst into tears.
