Personally, I wouldn't inflict anything that smelly on any of my friends :rotfl:
  • Thanks for the links. I might make some for Christmas.

Can I respectfully suggest you rethink this? If someone gave me a Friendship cake starter at Christmas/for Christmas I wouldn't be pleased - I will have more than enough 'other' cake/treats in the house and this stuff is 'time sensitive' IYSWIM. I wouldn't have the worktop space to keep it on or the time, to 'feed' it!
Now a BAKED cake - whole different matter.

  • I'm yeast intolerant and if I recieved this as a present I would think the person either didn't know me at all or hated me!

:rotfl: a friend at work was trying to do this and basically the rest of us said 'er no thanks!' and she had no one to give it to! Doesn't mean we're not her friends...

I agree. It would be going in the bin. If I want to bake something I will, and it most probably won't be a cake based on yeast. My friend that tried to do it said the cake it made was pretty yukky anyway...
