  • Presumably you mean "Grosvenor House"? That would be a good deal for £80. "The Grosvenor" is much worse than the Marriott Marble Arch.
  • Hi

Have wanted to use priceline but hit a snag.
3 of us want a room - me, husband and 9 year old son.
I know most rooms will probably be in large chains which can provide a rollawaybed or similar which would be perfect, but reading the small print they are only obliged to provide a double or two singles. I dont want to take the chance because if that is what they do provide it will be a problem. I Have asked priceline for their solution but always get the responce to bid for two rooms. Obviously not what we want.
    Any ideas please.
    thank you for any responces.

You can do your research on www.betterbidding.com to try to get a zone which has a majority of hotels with suitable rooms, but even then you will need to keep in mind that it will not be guaranteed.

    Where are you bidding for?
    Gone ... or have I?

Depends where you are looking to stay with PL but unless it's NY or London you may be OK.

Worst case is the hotel will charge for a rollaway.

Look at Hotwire for a guaranteed "family" room

Yes, I was referring to the Grosvenor House hotel on Park Lane.
  • Hi, this is the first time I've tried priceline wanted a 4* in leeds for next friday so tried a cheekily low £25 before tax bid, was unsuccessful (unsuprissingly can't get a travelodge for that) Message came up to try £10 more. Got marriot leeds for just over £46 including taxes bargain:j. Definately think I'll try them again
  • Any tips for a 5* (preferably) or 4* in London next week?

    • Destination: Dublin
    • Type of accommodation: 5*
    • How many extra daily bids did you have available: 0
    • How much were your 2nd/3rd etc & final bids: £78 plus taxes and charges accepted on first bid. Booked 2 rooms for 2 nights so total cost is £363.88.
    • I used Betterbidding to research what hotels were coming up, in what zones and prices won at. In all honesty, there's not too many mentioned for Dublin. The prices seemed to range from $130 - $143 so, I made £78 ($130) my first bid and this was accepted immediately and I have got The Westin. (Could I have got it lower? Who knows but I am more than happy with this hotel at this price and that's what counts.) It is currently no 18 out of 180 hotels on Tripadvisor for Dublin hotels so I am very pleased.
This is the first time I have booked 2 rooms. Does anyone know when is the optimum time to contact the hotel as I need to request one room as a double and one room as a twin?

Bid reported on Betterbidding and, as I didn't use their link, I have made a donation through their Paypal Donate link.
