Anyone know what the Nottingham 4* Hotels are in the Nottingham City Centre are and what price to bid at?

None are reported on BB as yet. I would keep in mind that the PL area is much wider than the actual city centre, you could find yourself a good few miles out.

    Difficult one TBHO.

Look at the Priceline "normal" web-site for your dates (?) and pick out some brand name 4* hotels there.

(I see the Crowne Plaza, Hilton, Park Plaza all at about £75 per night.)

Not a guarantee but it is likely these will be the options on the "name your own price" side of PL

Bid at half the price (my example £35) and see what comes up.

TBHO at these low prices you won't save too much and it may be worth look at Late rooms or other discount sites for a better bargain.

Let us know how it goes.
  • $141/£89 (plus taxes) Bid accepted for Saturday and Sunday 2nd & 3rd October 2010 at Hilton Paris La Defense, no extra night offered.

$135/£85 (plus taxes) Bid accepted for Friday 1st October 2010 at Hilton Paris La Defense.

Started off at £50 in areas 3,4,6,7 and got to £90 with no luck, wanted to stay central Paris but this was my limit so dropped the price and added area 1 and got the above bids accepted.

Cheapest I could find on web for above dates at that hotel was £268 so very happy

Woah that is an awesome saving! Currently using Priceline for the second time after a decent deal for Amsterdam last year.

Trying to get 5 or 4 star in Barcelona La Ramblas 19th - 23rd April, upto £40 a night at the moment - cheeky I know but i've got time yet and might as well work my way up you never know! I bet i'm way way way waaaaay off with that!!!
  • Paid £160 plus taxes asked for 4* in New york. Got Marriott Renaissance 57 which was really terrible and 3*.It only costs $150 per night if you book direct with their website. My first and last try at priceline. I think it is a total rip off!

I take it you didn't read any guides or look at any bidding web-sites???? If your hotel was cheaper booking through their web-site you can claim the difference back from PL.

The Renaissance 57 is generally rated 3.5 or 4*. It certainly has the facilities that you would expect from a 4*, and knowing someone who has stayed there I would certainly not describe it as terrible.

I am with blindman on this one, you clearly did not do your research. However, please don't let that get in your way of your unsubstantiated rant!

Panicked again! Lost my nerve on trying for a cheap 5 star London hotel and bid down for a 4 star :(

Got a Saturday night in March for £61 (£78.01 incl. fees) - hotel website quotes £159 as cheapest room - so it's not going to be as good as when I got the Grosvenor for £80.

Tripadvisor reviews seem to suggest that I have a goodish hotel at a nearly greatish price.
