My aunt says it's a tax on the ugly and the boring..... (was relieved to meet Mrs BB after years of mental abuse by my family)PasturesNew wrote: »The down side of being single is paying over the odds for accommodation/bills as there's nobody to share it with.
And then even any form of travel/holiday type of thing is pricier per head. And food is pricey when you're feeding one.
It really sucks and there's no choice in the matter. Can't magic up a partner to share costs with.0 -

Well its certainly not up here in the NE of Scotland anyway, Aberdeen rental prices are sky high.
I would expect £11-1200pm rental if i were to rent out my house.
I rent out two properties in Aberdeen.
A 4 bed house for £1100 per month and a 2 bed flat for £800 per month.
I increased the house from £900 to £1100 18 months ago but I notice that the average 4 bed house in Aberdeen is now marketed at £1600 per month:wall:
What we've got here is....... failure to communicate.
Some men you just can't reach.

For £600

Rightmove is not good to search for properties to rent or buy in Aberdeen.
Much better to use http://www.aspc.co.uk/
You have shown examples where 2 beds start at £600, but these properties look to be the worst
Here's some for £1500:eek:

http://www.aspc.co.uk/cgi-bin/public/SINGLE?ID=262477
Here's some examples of a 2 bed on for £1300:eek:
http://www.aspc.co.uk/cgi-bin/public/SINGLE?ID=263903
http://www.aspc.co.uk/cgi-bin/public/SINGLE?ID=263511
http://www.aspc.co.uk/cgi-bin/public/SINGLE?ID=262634
Some for £1200:eek:
http://www.aspc.co.uk/cgi-bin/public/SINGLE?ID=263471

Now I'm not saying they will rent for this. (I currently rent out a 4 bed house for 1100 and much better than all those listed above) but shows the range of prices in Aberdeen:wall:

Go on holiday with your mates / sisters / family? It isn't family-only thing, surely?
Before my little terror was born, I travelled a lot, and went on holiday a lot, and never had my own room - either went with mates, or my family.
One of my sisters is currently in America on holiday - she's single, but has gone with a friend of hers....much enquiry having been made concerning a gentleman, who had quitted a company where Johnson was, and no information being obtained; at last Johnson observed, that 'he did not care to speak ill of any man behind his back, but he believed the gentleman was an attorney'.0 -
Good point NDG.
In fact, you have to be really good friends for this, but a girlfriend came to Italy with me to visit DH and we stayed in hotels in Firenze and Venice and she took the 'free' single in a parnets room, so trios go still cheaper than couples....0 -
I did that several times in my broke, going-round-Russia days with my best mate and her BF....much enquiry having been made concerning a gentleman, who had quitted a company where Johnson was, and no information being obtained; at last Johnson observed, that 'he did not care to speak ill of any man behind his back, but he believed the gentleman was an attorney'.0

No. No family that I want to spend the minimum of time with.
No mates, couple of vague "people I know a bit online" who have partners they go with.
As sad as it will sound, some of the people here would have to count on the scale as "pretty good mates". This is where I get the majority of my social intereaction.
I luff U all
Also, one of my Aspie traits is issues I have around privacy. I couldn't share, I'd twitch too much every time somebody moved. I don't relax that close to people.0
