Its not just the travel card money but the time, his hours are so long that every minute of sleeping time counts. If we buy somewhere on the edge of commutable he'll keep a sleeping bag in the office.
I don't think your DH would like living with my tornado-whirlwind of a little angel (-:
If I were him, I'd rent a studio close to the office, and cycle / walk in. Saves time and money....much enquiry having been made concerning a gentleman, who had quitted a company where Johnson was, and no information being obtained; at last Johnson observed, that 'he did not care to speak ill of any man behind his back, but he believed the gentleman was an attorney'.0 -

We couldn't find a studio for the price he pays as a lodger
otherwise would be ideal! But of course, the city is full of men just like DH but richer

Wrong comparison, I reckon. It should be the lodger price + zone 3 travel card + £100 a month for the extra sleep....much enquiry having been made concerning a gentleman, who had quitted a company where Johnson was, and no information being obtained; at last Johnson observed, that 'he did not care to speak ill of any man behind his back, but he believed the gentleman was an attorney'.0

OK, we didn't factor in the price of sleep, true enough! But we did the other two!0 -
If he's in a big city firm, you soooo need to price in sleep!...much enquiry having been made concerning a gentleman, who had quitted a company where Johnson was, and no information being obtained; at last Johnson observed, that 'he did not care to speak ill of any man behind his back, but he believed the gentleman was an attorney'.0

we know now and will do better next time:o0 -
I know it's the norm but London prices still never cease to amaze me! I'm about to rent a 2 (double) bed flat in the west mids for £550, rent to increase on the year anniversary by no more than 4%. It's lovely, too

The down side of being single is paying over the odds for accommodation/bills as there's nobody to share it with.
And then even any form of travel/holiday type of thing is pricier per head. And food is pricey when you're feeding one.
It really sucks and there's no choice in the matter. Can't magic up a partner to share costs with.0
