Seems good at £16 per month for BB + Anytime calls ( first 4 mths free). I am with Eclipse BB and have to say they are good, service, support all done by intelligent people. I already have Anytime calls. So should I go over to BT to save only a few quid- its a dilemma. Will BT offer better in the mths ahead? Ideas welcome. Thanks.

bt is the uk's most trusted and reliable broadbad provider, its not always about how cheap you get it for

Lympus, watch out for the monthly download limit of 10GB - it's £5 for every 5GB after that.

Griggzl, I think you're very much in the minority in your view of BT. According to Which?:

BT is the biggest broadband provider in the UK but is below average in our latest customer survey.
Its customer satisfaction score is 48% - less than its big rival Virgin Media.

I entered a telephone number and postcode on Plusnet's website as Martin had stated that it was offering 12 months half price broadband but when I entered the details I got the following contradictory message.

    Price

You can get Value broadband and Talk Evenings & Weekends for just £6.49 a month for the first 3 months, then £12.99 a month after that.
Your Line rental will be £11.99 a month.
Your Value broadband will be half price for 12 months (you'll still pay for Home Phone).

Does this mean that £6.49 is payable for Value broadband for 3 months or 12 months? Is the advice on their website an indication of the service they provide?
  • I need to talk to Primus to ask them a couple of specific Qs before I hand over my telephone account to them.

I've tried to use the details on their contact page at http://www.primussaver.co.uk/contact.html - but neither the phone or email address work.

Does anyone know if Primus are still going, and if there are contact details for them that actually work?

I had the same when I signed up very recently. I received an email which stated:
    Dear Mr ****,

    Account username: ****

We can confirm that the promotion code you provided entitles you to a discount.

Your monthly discount is: 50.00% off
You'll receive this discount for the next 12 months.

You don't need to do anything, this discount is automatically applied to your account.
You can see all your charges online at any time - https://www.plus.net/go.html/viewmyinvoices

I also made a copy of the webpage which stated boldly "Your Value broadband will be half price for 12 months"

    We'll see what happens :D

Thanks! I must get it sorted when I get back from holidays on the 18th! Even with Plusnet's £25 activation fee it would cost me £8.57 a month which is less than I am currently paying O2 at the minute, £15.29 a month. :T

I'm in a Market 1 area - so I was surprised to get this "Your Value broadband will be half price for 12 months". It would not surprise me if they come back and claim this was a mistake - but having told me this during the signing up process - and also receiving a confirmation email they surely can't wriggle out of it?

I hope not! I am sure someone will be along shortly to give their opinion! If there are any changes will you update here so I will know before I attempt to sign up with them?

    Sure :)

    If you're in a Market 2 or 3 area I don't think you'd need worry.
