Just to confirm, plusnet will no longer let you use a primus phone line with their broadband, they will insist you take their phone line.
They couldn't say why.
Just spent 2 hours trying to sort it and had to cancel the primus line switch as a result.
You need a an active Plusnet or other BT compatible landline to get Plusnet Broadband.
If Primus lines are no longer BT compatible eg unbundled LLU then this could be the reason. If there still BT compatible then it should not be a problem.0 -

Well I use PlusNet broadband and a Primus phone account and Ive not had that problem so far. How did PlusNet contact you about this?
Anyway PlusNet may be talking total bollox as when you entered into a contract to use their broadband there was no condition at the time that you had to use their telephone line. They cannot just change a fundamental term like that, although they can do so before one enters into a new contract with them ie you were using another broadband supplier..
Incidentally a word of warning about Primus. It's impossible to contact their customer care when you get a problem as they don't answer the phone, nor respond to emails or letters. I'm currently dealing with them by complaining to Ofcom. They are a bunch of crooks.0 -
A chap from Talk Talk came to my house a few days ago and made me an offer that I had difficultly in refusing. I ask is that I seem to recall some way you could set up an account with the provider, and then your calls would automatically route through them.0

Very difficult to find nowadays.Time has moved on (much quicker than it used to - or so it seems at my age) and my previous advice on residential telephony has been or is now gradually being overtaken by changes in the retail market. Hence, I have now deleted links to my previous 'pearls of wisdom'. I sincerely hope they helped save some of you money.0 -
Seems good at £16 per month for BB + Anytime calls ( first 4 mths free). I am with Eclipse BB and have to say they are good, service, support all done by intelligent people. I already have Anytime calls. So should I go over to BT to save only a few quid- its a dilemma. Will BT offer better in the mths ahead? Ideas welcome. Thanks.0
