Called this morning and got put through to sales who told me the price is £150 for HD box + £60 installation. We already have multiroom and Sky+ on main TV plus take all the channels (sports & movies - and have done for last 11 years).

I asked if the offer was likely to change if I waited a few days to think it over, and she said that 'we don't do any offers on Sky Hd, this is our permanent deal'.

While on the phone the postwoman had been and when I hung up I went to check post and what did I find - a Sky HD leaflet addressed to me, offering Sky HD for £75 + £60 installation!!!! What happened to we don't do any deals on SKY HD????

Going to ring back and maybe say I want to cancel or at least drop some channels because I'm not happy I was miss led by the sales girl, she was very eager to get me to agree to the offer she made on the phone - no wonder.
  • I've had HD for about a year and the quality is not that much different on my 32ins Philips LCD. Maybe it's better on larger screens.

I called to cancel the HD subscription as I didn't think the level of quality was worth the £10 extra and now have the same service at half price - £5 for the next 6 months.

Just watched 17 days of Olympics on HD (42" Panasonic) - truely awesome. Just switching the same programme from HD to SD (IE BBC HD to BBC1) will show you how good it is, I got the 'sky guy in the precinct' deal about 6 weeks ago for £75 + £60 installation with no tie in to extra packages.... worth every penny IMO.
A bargain is something you don't need at a price you can't resist.
  • Think my tv must be a bit rubbish or maybe its my eye sight. When I'm minted I shall upgrade and get laser vision correction.
  • Just contacted sky as per the instructions on this thread. Was upfront and told them I was on an internet forum that said I could get Sky HD upgrade for £105. They said yes, went through no problem and I am getting it installed on Sunday. Thanks!

  • I ordered mine for £135, but when i got the bill through the post for £210, phoned them up and they would not honor the £135 deal, what rights do i have to this deal.
