I think you could say that. Don't know who they report to though. I have their basic account but haven't accessed my report for months
  • Oh mate stop teasing me! Just for all this teasing i'm going to apply in May and get the credit card with a stonking limit to wind you up - until of course I cannot repay it in which case i'll disappear like dirty den did in the 90's :rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl:

    LOL LOL LOL

    Brilliant!!

I'm debating whether to apply for First Direct. They have a savings account with a decent rate. I maxed my ISA allowance so some of my money is sitting in a 0.10% account with NatWest, which sucks.

    Do tell us!!

Did you hit the 'Apply' button??

No not yet, still considering it. :rotfl:

Is there a charge to bank with first direct?
Banking with first direct usually costs £10 a month, but it's free when you pay in at least £1,500 to your 1st Account each month, or maintain an average monthly 1st Account balance of £1,500, or hold a selected first direct additional product.

What's this 'selected additional product' they speak of? I may not be able to pay in that amount every month.

If you pay in £1500 PM it's free, if you have a savings account with them it's free also.

If your new and don't pay this amount in I believe they charge the £10.

    They are brilliant though!

    Ask NID - LOL

Does the savings account need to have a certain amount of money paid in to get it free?

I'd gladly move my savings over to them if it means I wont be charged.

I think it can be any of their saving account. I have moved my banking with them over a year ago, very good customer service. Was given their Gold Credit Card after 6 months.
  • Just to let you know - I applied for a Tesco credit card today and was declined as they checked Equifax (I have a fantastic credit score with Experian but terrible with Equifax). From reading previous posts on here I thought I would be OK with Tesco for credit card and not loan. On the decline statement they only stated that they had checked with Equifax, no mention of Experian at all.
