Is there really only Tesco and Zopa who search Equifax for Loan applications.
Seems very strange don't you think.
Hi
As far as has been reported, Tesco and Zopa are the only two lenders who exclusively use Equifax to credit score.
Barclaycard Masterloan was another one, but they are no longer available.

Don't bet on Zopa only using Equifax, either. While their quotation search on me was with Equifax, they are reporting to Experian and not to Equifax, so they clearly have relationships with both.
Google Payments did an Equifax money laundering identification check on me when I made a credit card payment.0 -
I can confirm that Tesco still uses Equifax for loan application cos my mate applied 3 days ago and he was checked with Equifax0

How's your credit? I want a flybe card but aint gonna waste my time applying unless i have a rough idea how strict they are.0 -
Excellent thread, Underground.
Just thought I'd mention that I bank with Natwest and they continually (every 3months or so) audit my Equifax Credit report for money laundering purposes. This action shows up in the 'searches' area of the report but does not affect my score. My girlfriend (who works for Natwest) and myself applied for a mortgage with Natwest and was accepted after they searched though Equifax. Nothing was noted on my Experian credit file.
We were later refused the mortgage after trying to get a loan with Nationwide. We apparently shot ourselves in the foot by generating too many credit searches on our credit file, upon re-negotiating the intial house price offer, the mortgage had to be also re-applied. This unearthed another two recent credit searches (again through Equifax), both with Nationwide.
Natwest then cautious of our (entirely honest) aplication put it to the underwriters who then requested a further 5% deposit, (I suppose for security purposes) which we refused to take them up on.
My Experian Credit report is a lot healthier than my Equifax report, I was thinking that by using your template i'd probably be more succesful using Halifax for a mortgage application, as I see you have them down for solely using Experian.
If possible, could someone point me to the post which discusses Halifax and the use of Experian for mortgages in this thread.
Thankyou.
**EDIT**tanyafelts wrote: »All these replies are very useful, however I need to add that the table information that Halifax use all three is correct, as this has caused a problem for me applying for a Mortgage as Experian and Call Credit had correct up to date information and Equifax had an account still showing as open and outstanding overdraft and another account with an incorrect balance like just like anniecave had said she had experienced.
Am I right in thinking the above quote states Halifax uses all three credit agencies for mortgage applications?0 -
When you say lenders "report to" particular agencies what do they actually report ?
Is it that the account has been setup or just on default situations ?0 -
how you run your accounts limit and payment0

I don't think Orange search on Experian. Got a sim only deal with them back in August, where I was credit checked in the store and I'm sure that the guy only searched on Equifax (had a quick glance of the paper that said Equifax). Nothing showing up about Orange on my Experian report and I havn't seen my Equifax one.0

I've received my statutory report from Call Credit this morning, and my Vanquis CC is shown. So now they report to all three CRAs.0
