And the final pot is now dug up and ready to eat. More maris piper -4lb from a smaller container, several of which are roasting away as I type. That gives me 13 lb of potatoes from 4 containers at a cost of £2, which I'm pleased with for a first attempt.
Thanks Kazwookie for starting this thread. Oddly enough, none of my friends and family want to talk potatoes with me!
All shall be well, and all shall be well, and all manner of things shall be well.

Pedant alert - it's could have, not could of.

    Well done all.

So from all the different spuds you have all grown this year, what do you think has tasted the best.

I am off to dig up my last bag tonight.

Well i dug up my Golden Wonders and only got about 4lbs. Lots were pretty small so I picked too early I think, but really really tasty baked or boiled in their skins - they really soak up the butter mmmmmm.

I put in 6 bags of seed potatoes and have dug up 7 and 1/2 paper sacks worth. They hopefully will see us through to next years lot.
This year they were all reds from wilkinsons(sorry im terrible with remembering the names). The reds always do better in our garden, less slug damage. I also earthed them up by just heaping the lawn mowings over them apart from the first earthing up and they were much bigger and more abundant than usual and easier to dig up too.
