What do you mean you don't consider new members, thats not very nice is it and a merry Christmas to you too my friend. :xmassign: :snow_laug
  • Not according to the O2 letter I received with my sims, it says register it online for the £2.50 credit and then register for 3 months bolt on for free, it says you have to top up £10 if you want 300 free texts. Thats the way I read it anyway.

I have just got 4 sims this morning. The letter with them says i quote

"To activate your phone, insert the sim card and top up with at least £10 ".

It also says that T&C apply to Bolt ons. https://www.o2.co.uk/terms

I think it its fair to say that Muhammed did spot a loophole, and from the response he got to his posting ,and the amount of people that read it.It was a very helpful posting indeed.

Okay, to clarify everything up - because there seems to be a lot of confusion - this is how it worked for me:
Step 1: Register your sim - do not top your sim up with £10 to register it, just go to https://www.o2.co.uk and register your sim online.
Step 2: As soon as you receive a confirmation from O2 that your registration has been succesful and that your £2.50 free credit has been loaded on, proceed to Step 3 (this should happen within 24-48hrs)
Step 3: Send a text message to 21300 (texting either the calls50/home250/msg100 code.
Step 4: You will receive a text message within 48 hours saying that your bolt-on has been loaded succesfully.

Problems: (any other probs I find a solution to will be listed here)
1:Not enough credit - If you receive a text saying that "you do not have enough credit" or something along similiar lines then top up your O2 Sim and request the bolt-on again.
2:How to check bolt-on balance - Okay, if you receive a confirmation that your bolt-on has been loaded then dial 4444 (which is the top up line). The operator will say: "To top up press 1" and then "For bolt-ons press 2" .... when you hear this dial 2 and wait then the operator will give you another 2 options. Option 2 will be "To check your bolt-on balance, press 2".
This will take you two a machine wich will read out the number of bolt-on minutes you have left.

    Hope this helps,

Is your sim not older than 6 months?if not then you should send the 'calls 50'text again.(it happened with my one sim but when i sent the text again, i got my free minuts)I got free minuts on new sim yesterday so the loophole is still working.

Tried again on same sim card and this time I got the bolt-on. Thanks!
