LMAO - not swearing, just a complete broke/tight a@@ed woman who is trying to buy the gifts in the summer sales - in other words make the gifts look like I like the recipients more than I actually do

Furthermore having sat here all day reading other threads I am going to give making baskets of gifts a go..............so now all I need are cheap and cheerful fillers and one half price gift!

I am determined not to max out cc this year just because I leave it all to last minute and panic buy!

Do you use quidco or other cashback sites? I use them through the year as like a savings pot for xmas. I currently have just over £200 'free' money for xmas:D

Have finally had a break in the madness. Only day off this week - back to work tomorrow through to next Wednesday.

DS4 had his birthday on Thursday. DS1 came up from the city to visit for three days. I cried when he left this morning :( Spoke to DS2 on the phone - he doesn't sound happy. I think student life is finally catching up with him - he's broke and can't find a job!!

DS4 had three mates stay over for a LAN last night. I went to bed at 10 last night, got up this morning at 7 and they were still going strong! So I put my ipod on and got stuck in to the mess . . .

    Today I have:
    Done last nights dishes
Two loads of washing (on airer as it's been raining all day)
    DW
    Basic budgeting stuff
    Cleared off kitchen counter
    Sorted recycling
    Wiped appliances and cupboard fronts
    Swept entry
Shifted dog crates out to the garage (they won't be happy tonight . . . )
    Thoroughly vacuumed computer room
Moved furniture around in computer room
Put DS4 new computer out there (he saved and bought himself one for his birthday)
Dropped DS4s friend off at bus
    Weekly menu
    Grocery list
    Grocery shopping
    Cooked dinner
    Rung DS2

    OH HAS:
    Vacuumed living areas
    Walked dogs
    Helped with dinner
    Helped his mum

    TO DO:
    Filing
Clear kitchen bench again -
Put box of computer cables, etc, away in garage
Make sure I've got clothes for work tomorrow.

Hmmm - I've done more than I thought. Didn't get any cleaning as such done - but my house is back to mine . . . and not crowded with teenage boys!

Have a great weekend everyone :)

Wow DeniseNZ that's amazing! I was looking proudly at my pile of neatly folded washing, now you have put me to shame. Mind you, my DSs are only toddlers so require more in the morning, I did get a lot done last night.
Have a problem now though, I have 2 things I really need to iron, can't wear them like that. But I don't iron (seriously done it 3 times since moved here over a year ago), my excuse is 2 toddlers make it too dangerous, any ideas what to do with them while I iron? If I can find iron and work out how to use it. Remember - don't touch the hot end!

    4. HHG.. everyone involved!! If it stops raining yes
    5. Fill a binbag of things to get rid of.. charity/bin etc

welcome kate :hello: most of us copy pigpen list from first post and then alter add on our own bits, please dont aim for everything to be crossed off straight away most of us have been flying for a while which makes the list slightly easier each week ( well this is how it should work).

Hi Kate, welcome! I only found this thread last night and it's made me so much more organised already. Good luck with your housework.
BTW, my OH lived on the IOM as a child, his parents had a hotel in Douglas (I think)

It's not raining here, if I do a load of washing what's the chance of it starting as soon as I go to hang it out? Anyone else in south-east been brave enough to hang out washing today?
