Essay is half done. Just spent an hour re-reading, editing the bits that I needed a thesaurus for, and typing up another 100 or so words. Too tired now so debating whether to wash up and go to bed, or to just go straight to bed....straight to bed is winning I think.
Going to go and give DD an extra big hug and text some friends just to say "I care for you and I'll always be here for you no matter what" after reading Weller's thread
Creeping back in for accountability after falling off the wagon in 2016.Need to get back to old style in modern ways, watching the pennies and getting stuff done!0 -
Hello
I know I know what you mean Nicki...makes you realise how lucky you are. I've managed some s/s all downstairs, mowed the back lawn, made a banana loaf thing and played lego car club with DS (we make a car each and then we belong to the club!!!). DD came home from last day at brownies. We spent ten minutes reading a sentence from a book in silly voices - the simple things please us!!
Had children's reports today. They've both done well but more importantly both of their teacher's have really loved having them in their classes. Some lovely comments.
Catch you all tomorrow - hugs to all xx0 -

Don't want to teach my granny to suck eggs but I often used the thesaurus on Word along with the auto summarise to help me get the word count down - helped me see the wood for the trees so to speak.................would you believe a year after graduating I actually miss studying and writing now.....think I am a academic at heart (or just a sad barstewart!)LBM Feb 2010 £62,700 Total Debt Jan 11 [STRIKE]£49,403.84[/STRIKE] £47,530.32.

rmc - I think pigpen decided that it was a lack of cups of tea that caused the problem rather than a surfeit of alcohol. I like her thinking.:D
hollyh - enjoy your break! I love the feeling at the beginning of the sumer holiday, when those lovely six weeks stretch ahead.
shell - terrifically well done on the interview. Hope your DD feels better soon.
poohbear - thank you for the good wishes. Still sniffly, so suspect cold rather than hayfever, although the pollen count is high today.
MrsV - wow, that was quite a reply!
Triker - hope you feel better soon. That is such sad news.
No more flying here since this morning, and because the children all needed transport to different places at hourly intervals, no allotment either. I planted a few bits in gaps in the garden instead.
I had a lovely cream tea meeting with the new department, but the timetable is not great. I only have two French lessons, and the rest is Spanish. It is all Year 8 and 9, and mostly lower or bottom sets. Just as well that I'm doing this on a supply basis to start, as I may very well not continue. Apparently, they have been taught by three different people this year, none of them qualified teachers and none of them linguists. I may be resilient as a teacher, but I'm not completely barking - and for one of the bottom sets, we work on cross curricular projects, and they haven't even written the scheme of work yet. Right. I think I shall be looking around for something else!
michelle - have I missed you today?:hello:It is never too late to become what you were always intended to be0 -
