My DD is 10, so not little little, and has an over-cautious nature when it comes to anything hot, sharp or otherwise dangerous, so safety as such isn't an issue, although I'm guessing having something available to rest the lid on definitely is. Space is a big issue though, living in a modern lego house where they don't consider how people are actually going to live in the thing! I'd love to knock the kitchen through to the utility room and have a big kitchen with room to eat too, but there are so many other things needing doing on the house that's a long way down the list.

Oh, that's great, I'm glad I didn't pay too much for the rack anyway. The lady on the phone was very helpful and nice and said she had to put some code or other in to make sure I got the Summer prices. She also said that this item was really popular at the moment for some reason, she couldn't understand why..........!!!!

She also said they had a team talk this morning and some of the staff at Lakeland were buying these as well and everyone was saying that they weren't using their big ovens now.

Is the code that was mentioned for £10 off just for online purchasing? Do you think I could ring back and say I had forgotten to give it to her? - that's if I find the code of course? My husband is a bit grumpy about me just spending £118-odd when I reckon I'm moneysaving!

Could you let me have the Foccoccia receipe? I have a MR fastbake and nothing for Foccoccia in it`s book.

Desperate House wife, the bread receipe you posted-was that the artisan bread? which flour do you use?

    Thanks in advance.

I have just made a scone round in my grand, and have some brownies cooking at mo,pyrex was a bit bigger than it should have been, but sure it will be ok?

Having leftovers for tea, sweet and sour chicken for Ds`s and birani for me with oven chips, all in Remoska of course!!

Was thinking of doing some of twinks biscuits, anyone done them in the Remoska? Don`t want to put big oven on, but will need some lunchbox supplies for when boys back at school.

    Hi Crockpot,

Its just a bog standard recipe I cobbled up ot of various cookbooks but it works ok, I just use ordinary/cheapo strong bread flour.

I keep passing through and get really excited when I see that people have posted on this thread! Keep posting your lovely recipes, everyone I talk to doesn't even seem to know what a remoska is!

I made a yoghurt and lemon cake out of the Mary Berry's cake book that I borrowed from the library, it was very nice and disappeared before my very eyes!!! Her book is so nice I am tempted to buy it, I have flagged up all her recipes that call for an 8inch cake tin and then I know it will for my standard ok.

    Certainly!

    1/2 tsp yeast
300g strong white bread flour (or I use 200g white and 100g wholemeal)
    1 tsp salt
    1 tablespoon olive oil
    200 ml water

Do it on the pizza setting if the MR has one. Takes 45 mins in the Panny.
Thank you for this site :jNow OH and I are both retired, MSE is a Godsend

Does anyone have an idea as to whether the Remoska is cheaper to run than putting on the oven for those of us with gas cookers?

I would love to know the answer to this too!

Just gone back on the web to the recipe I used, allow to cool, cut then move to rack!!! Less haste and all that!!
  • Evening all - have taken delivery of a grand Remoska ( was out all day but cheekily put note on door asking any parcels to be delivered next door - have lovely neighbours :j )

I was going to order online but was unsure whether to go for the grand or the standard so I went into the shop to try them out ( you know, picking them up, sighing, looking around, putting them back, picking them up again etc for half an hour)

Decided on the grand as standard seemed so small - (want to do a roast with potatoes all in one). Thanks to this thread I told an assistant that I thought that the old prices were still being honoured - and she said she'd need to check - and came back to confirm that I could order from the shop and have it delivered free and at the old price (I was very vague on where I had seen the old price). So, ordered on Friday and delivered today Wednesday together with free gift of a roll of foil. Now need to track down some silicone liner stuff - will try Home Bargains as suggested by someone earlier. If anyone has seen some in B&M or cheap stores or Wilkos etc will you please let me know?

Thanks to everyone posting tips and recipes - so interesting! Have put the recipe book on my Christmas list.

    Cheers
    Sparkly
  • Tried the scone recipe this morning - think that next time I will just do one big round scone marked into sections as I think somebody else suggested in an earlier post - it will make it much easier to make use of the space available. Also made some bread tonight - was going to be rolls but in the end for the same reason that I'll be doing a scone round I just pushed the dough into the non-stick pan for the second rising and then when I cooked it I turned it over towards the end of the cooking time and cooked it upside down for the last 7 or 8 minutes - it was lovely - had it along with tea but it was pretty big so would half quantity next time and see how it goes.

enjoying having a play with the different recipes and the family don't mind being my guinea pigs!!
