AlwaysHappy - My rolls yesterday were the dough recipe for rolls from the Panny booklet followed exactly, but I have the Grand and they spread out to fill the entire base and I then had to pull them apart,so certainly use less stuff than that for the Standard! They were very nice though - even the dog pinched one off the worktop when I wasn't looking

  • When I do bread I make a dough the night before with 14 oz flour to 200mls water, (1tsp yeast, 1tsp salt, 1tbspn sugar slosh of olive oil) give it a quick knead and leave covered in the fridge overnight. Next morning I knock it back, another quick knead and then leave it in the deep pan until risen (usually by the afternoon) Then pop the lid on and swith it on, takes around 20 mins (ish).

I'm making lamb chops on the rack tonight with sweet potato underneath and a few courgettes out of the garden. Last night I did a fish pie...put leftover salmon in the bottom, poured a bit of white sauce with mushrooms and onion cooked in it and then topped with mash, very nice and tasty.

3 meals so far. Roast chicken and potatoes. Very good indeed. Sausages and bacon, again very nice. Last night cottage pie. Very good. Go careful though. I managed to create some modern sculpture by having the lid to close to the plastic toaster!

Yesterday I baked HM rolls in my Moski: :T
Then I cooked some bacon and fried an egg in it too so we had bacon and egg baps for lunch! :)

Today I cooked a pork joint and potatoes in it.
Think the potatoes could have done with a tad longer as we like them extra crispy, but not bad for my first attempt at a roast in my Moski. Hubby loved the pork crackling.

Looking forward to hearing what you've all been up to with it! :D

What size remoska do you have?

I'm still undecided which to go for the standard or the grand.

The standard is the same size as my ancient slow cooker and it's big enough to make a stew for four in.
Sometimes I only cook for me so is the smaller more practical?
Would I be able to cook a whole meal in the smaller or is it better in the bigger one?

    Questions, questions, I just don't know. :o

So do I buy one this size or go for the bigger one?

Rikki, I've searched back and Clutterfree has a grand remoska. That pic of the joint has convinced me that's the size we need, rather than the standard. I know the price goes up imminently, but I'm not getting one till I can work out where it will go - we have slow cooker, toaster, microwave etc. out on the worktop and working surface is in short enough supply as it is, so I really need to sort this before I buy anything else.

My concern was it being too big for me to use just for me, ( :o I do have family but I do dine alone too.) but I'm more likely to roast and cook dry foods than stews or curries as I prefer them in the slow cooker.

Help ! Silly question (probably) : tonight I'm going to do a casserole with lamb, onion, tomato and aubergine plus roast spuds. Do I put the meat stuff in the little separate pan and the spuds just on the floor of the pan, or the spuds in the separate pan and the meat in the pan itself ? I could see that if I put the meat in the pan and the spuds in the separate little pan the gravy would seep under it and some of it would burn, but perhaps not - what do other people do please ?
I think also I would say that as the lid gets VERY hot I would be scared of having the Moska going if I had small children around, so it does seem important to work out where it's going to sit when on, if the kitchen is full of small people whizzing about. it's just two elderly bods here so unless he fiddles it's safe, but it could be a worry, I thought. (but I still love it to bits and haven;t cooked anything in the big oven for over a week now :T )

Been thinking about buying one of these since I read some posts about it a few weeks ago. Have finally persuaded a very reluctant husband to let me order it (at the summer price, natch!) and have just rung and ordered the Grand (decided that although there's only two of us, we do tend to eat quite a lot and then there's always leftovers, yum, yum!).

I also went mad and ordered the recipe book (Oh, another £10 but I am sure it will help) and the rack. She said that the rack was £8.99 and when I look at my list where I've been scribbling all the prices, I'm sure I had written £6.99 for the rack! Is this right, can someone tell me that it is that price and that I haven't just agreed to £2 more than I should? Then I come on here and somewhere someone has given a code which would have got me another £10 off! Is that right! If I was given the code, could I ring back and ask if I could amend the order! Please?

mazza245, it is the standard rack that costs 6.99, the one for Grand Remoska is more expensive...

    Hi mazza245,

have checked online for you and 8.99 (I bought it at this price as well) is the correct price for the rack for the grand and 6.99 is the price for the rack for the standard size. I remember reading on this thread about a voucher but I think it was valid much earlier in the year.
