Just to add, I got a pork hock at the farmers market and I'm not sure what to do with it. Do you think it will be ok to shove it in the remoska for a couple of hours? Maybe with a little water or shall I just put it in the slow cooker as I imagine it will be a tough cut?0

I am struggling with timing. Ive had mine since December and I confess Ive not used it at much as I thought I would but some of that is because I am struggling to get timings right.
Disappointed I cant cook a 2lb loaf of bread in there, comes too close to the lidI have a gift for enraging people, but if I ever bore you it'll be with a knifeLouise Brooks

I cooked a huge gammon hock in mine this week, just put it in - I did squeeze a clementine over it, but only because otherwise it was headed for the bin! I turned it over a couple of times, and after about 1 1/2 hours put a bit of foil over the top. Cooked for a total of 2 1/2 hours I think, it was gorgeous.
For pork hock I'd probably rub it with a few spices but whatever sort of flavours you like would be fine.
Not sure really whether Remoska or slow cooker would be best, I'd probably try it with one, then another time try the other. I have done some really lovely pork shoulder in the SC, so would do the hock the same in there.0 -
I would put a hock in a slow cooker as it really does need the fibres breaking down.
Shoulders are great in the Remoska (I did lamb the other day, with ras-al-hanout)0 -

Elgar the more I use mine the more I love it!
I'm using it for most things now, curries, spaghetti, jacket and twice baked spuds, roast veggies... the list goes on!
I don't know about the electricity saved but its wattage is about a third of my oven so it must be saving. However I've read a bit about the fact it has no thermostat then its always at full power where other ovens are turning off and on all the time. I'm not sure about this myself.0 -
Best thing I ever got, I love it.0

How long should the teflon coating on the lid last before it starts coming off? I've had mine around two years now and the coating is coming away and areas are white. I do use it a fair bit so maybe its just wear and tear. Can i really ring lakeland after two yeras of use?
