Remoska cookers (merged)

Thanks Jackie.
I'm hoping to see a difference in electric bills as ds would often do one baked spud... in the oven!
I've just had, potato chipolatos, once nicely done I chucked in a few mushrooms/slice of bacon and finally an egg. A really nice lunch and no looking after, with only one pan to wipe out!
I sometimes wish i'd bought the big one but looking at the power output its only an extra 50% more but twice the size of the standard so i'm thinking it may not be as powerful.0 -

I'll go have a look, thanks!0 -
I can't get on with slow cookers (everything tasted the same, with a slightly 'chemical' aftertaste) but I LOVE my Remoska. I have a standard one which is fine for 2 of us but last year I was in a Lakeland shop and there on the 'Sale' shelf was a big one - reduced because the box was bashed. I bought it (of course) and it's in the cupboard waiting for my Standard one to expire (because there are a few stories out there of the lids going funny and not working) but so far I haven't needed it. Beware when making yorkies or Toad in the hole because the batter rises and rises and rises - marvellous !0

If anything goes wrong with your Remoska - anything at all, just take it back to Lakeland and they will replace it.
Lakeland provide the best customer service ever.

Love my Remoska! There are a few things it doesn't do so well because all the steam can't vent; so I don't do roast potatoes in it, but I do a roast vegetable mix - onions, peppers, tomatoes that does beautifully, and it makes a Spanish omelette puff up like nothing else!0

How do you do a Spanish omelette in it? just pour it in and then leave it -how long?0

I got mine just before christmas so still trying things. Chicken and jacket spuds are definitely fab0

heat the Remoska empty, pour in olive oil and whatever you want to fry. You need to keep an eye on it - I potter about, returning every few minutes to stir the onions, peppers, bacon, potato, whatever.
When all that stuff is nice & soft, I pour in the beaten eggs, pop the lid back on & keep an eye on it through the glass.0 -
I do worry about the teflon coating as I don't usually cook with this material. If it starts to flake off at all i'll be on the fone to Lakeland.
Really enjoying using it at the moment. I love cooking and this seems like a challenge... i'm up for it!0
