I am also thinking of getting one but just wonder what the "lower price" is? Is it £89.99? Any idea how much it is going up to after 31 August?

Ho Shopndrop, the original price is £79.99 if you get your order in before the end of the month by phone or snail mail (as far as know) its gone up to £89.99 in the new catalogue.

  • Yay! let us know what you cook in it when it arrives :)

Well - my next project will be to cook the meat part of shepherds pie, serve it into little containers and then add the mash (cheesy or mustard) to each one. Voila, several meals sorted :D And, of course, more baking beckons...
  • My remoska should have cost £100 - the grand. I found a code on this site for £10 off a £25 spend. I ordered four lots of £25 gift vouchers - c- value £100 and paid only £60 for them - used the vouchers in store to buy my remoska. This was earlier this year. At that time you could only use gift vouchers in-store but customer service said they were looking to allow on-line or telephone use soon. I have used the code twice now - once to get wedding present for a friend and once for the remoska. I will try to find the code if any one is interested - it may still be valid.

It has been used twice already today. First I made a pasta sauce from diced aubergine, onions, garlic, tinned tomatoes and marjoram. Then I got my dh cooking (at last!!!! and its only taken 38 years) and he made the remoska flapjacks. They look excellent so maybe just maybe, they will give him the confidence to get on and cook something else, like real food :D

Bless you all for posting all this information. DH & I had discussed buying a Remoska for weeks, but couldn't really come to a decision on it. We didn't want one of those "sit in the back of the cupboard unused" appliances. But after reading all the posts together, and in view of the rising cost to run the oven, we've decided that we will be ordering one (prior to 31 August to get the lower price!). Thank you! I can't wait to order it and try it out!

I did oven chips on a liner on top of rack, cooked for 20mins then put them on bottom and cooked fish in batter on the rack for about 30mins,some of batter fell off onto chips! but they ate it! Did not want to put fish on liner as did not think chips would cook in dark, will put fish on a liner on rack next time!

For my tea-slimming I put a layer of pots,in a dish with a layer of onions, and a layer of baked beans-found receipe on MSE-cooked for 30 mins then added breadcrubs and a bit of cheese topping cooked for anoth 5-10mins it was yum!

Done some brownies in it today-they smell good-will let you know what Ds`s think after lunch!

I am planning on getting one of these later this week but wonder do I need a spare pan, a rack or the pan separator. Also what about the recipe book or do you get something with the Remoska when you buy it so that you can at least get started.

Have also tried to find the code that kathleenryd talks about but am having trouble finding it. Can anyone help please?
  • Hi shopndrop, You get a little recipe book with the remoska which has tips in it. I bought the rack and a shallow pan which is very useful but you can get round it by using any ovenware stuff that fits. I am wary of scratching the non stick lining though so I splashed out on the magic liner which is good. I have even put the liner in the dishwasher and it came out ok. My plan is to buy some of the silicone muffin tins from asda and cut them out (like another poster did on here)....from asda.

What if you just get the remoska and see how you get on? You might not need the rest of the gear if you have other things in your cupboard you can use.

Hi shopndrop. I bought my Remoska a couple of weeks ago and am completely in love with it. I'm going to buy a rack for it, though, as I think it will be useful. I also bought (not from Lakeland, though, and cheaper, I think, than their magic liner) some non-stick oven paper and cut a circle for the base, as like Desperate Housewife, I'm scared of scratching it, even with chips! :rotfl:

Desperate Housewife, I'm planning on getting the Asda silicone muffin cases too, but they were out of stock the last time I was in. However, the ones I saw were separate, just like paper muffin cases, only silicone, and they were £2 for either 6 or 12, can't remember. It would save cutting up a 'tin' if you could get those.

Shopndrop, the scones, roast chicken, quick apple tart and baked tatties from the recipe book that comes with the remoska are all absolutely fab. :T I've made foccacia bread in it too, which was gorgeous, and a deep dish pizza - yum.

I'm a fully paid up member of the R.A.S. (Remoska Appreciation Society)! :j
