I have to say I was looking at getting a Remoska. While I can't afford to get one this month, I think I shall be buying one of these from my next pay. I think it'll be such a good investment, and I've even managed to convince the other half of just how practical these things are. So I think I'm decided that in a couple of weeks time, I shall be taking a trip to Lakeland to get one!

Thanks for all the posts - they've really helped to convince me.

I keep looking at this and wondering whether to buy it; I think I might take the plunge now.

I'm very tempted by a remoska instead of the slow cooker I've been thinking of. My big question is - does it save money - anyone any ideas of running costs?

I worked yesterday, and put the Remoska on a light timer so that it came on half an hour before I got home. I put an Asda cottage pie in it, and it was done when I got in.

I usually put a casserole in the slow cooker when I am working, but the Remoska now means I can have all sorts of meals ready for when I get home :T

My Remoska arrive yesterday :j however once it was fully unpacked OH saw that the cable housing that comes out of the handle was split  . So rang Lakekand and they are sending a new one out today. They will collect the old one next week.

So I couldnt play with it last night - OH wanted to try bacon and eggs straight away. Never mind we are actually away for the weekend so wont really be trying anything till next week.

Yes, moanymoany - there's even a video on the Lakeland website here http://www.lakeland.co.uk/standard-remoska!REG-electric-cooker/F/productvideo/2511?returnURL=/F/product/2511

I've cooked a roast chicken in mine, minus the tatties - delicious! Cooked upside down to protect the breast from drying out, then turned breast side up for the last 20 min or so to crisp the skin.

I found this code DW1 which appears to have been a £10 of a £25 spend back in June, don't know if it'll still work but it's got to be worth a go!

Both Standard and Grande have increased in price by £10 but it can still be had at the old price by saying you have seen it in the Out of Kitchen brochure (this can be viewed online at lakeland) and all the prices in that catalogue are up to 31/8/08. Just a thought to save £10.
