I cooked rice in mine this morning, to be reheated to go with chilli, also made in the Remoska, for dinner tonight. It makes really good rice that's light and fluffy. Just one cup of long grain rice to two cups of boiling water in an ovenproof bowl. Cook in the Remoska for around thirty minutes. I just dig a fork into the middle to check; if there's no liquid left, it's ready.

Thanks for this one - I am a remoska devotee but I would have never have thought of cooking rice in it until now.

OK, so I have taken the plunge - at long last - and ordered a Grand Remoska along with the rack.

Is it possible to have food cooking on the pan as well as food cooking on the rack? Has anyone tried it?

    Thanks :)

Just out of interest, if you have small hands or are less strong, the regular one is better. I own a regular one for ever day and I have a large one for a particular time off year (just gets used for a wek - don't ask!). I fnd the grand one quite difficult to use and it doesn't cook as well :( but the regular one is a star. The lid is just too heavy on the big one.

I don't know whether this has been mentioned before, but herby wedges are great cooked in the Remoska.

Leave the skin on spuds, wash and dry. Cut into wedge shapes. Add oil and a few herbs to the Remoska, add wedges and cook till crisp.

    Delicious!

I cook rice in mine all the time but I don't bother with the bowl, I cook it in the Remoska pan - rice never sticks to it!

I agree the remoska is a great way to cook rice, and I used to cook a lot of rice in mine, but it causes a lot of steam I do wonder if this may be why it started tripping the electrics? Since Lakeland kindly replaced my remoska recently, I have been reluctant to cook anything 'too wet' in it. I wish they could get to the bottom of that tripping issue and resolve it.

Well i got my remoska out intending to clean the lid this morning as it has a few marks on it and i wanted to clean it up. I`m giving everything a good scrub ready for when the kitchen is finished so that everything will be gleaming.

I discovered that the teflon is peeling off the lid around the edges
I`ve checked for this before when i`ve read that other peeps have had it and never seen it before. Bet i can`t find the receipt

Will have a good look for it later in the week when i get my day off - to say i`m disappointed is an understatement:( I love my remmy!

Yes, mine has that as well. It doesn't affect how it works at all and I have never found any of it in the food, I think it is just where the lid sits on the pan. I would guess it is normal?

    Hi Retired Lady,

its not just peeling in the area where the lid sits on the pan but also on other bits :( If it was just that part then i wouldn`t be too bothered tbh.

I`m crossing my fingers in hope that i can find the receipt too.

I don`t really want to be without it.

I wouldn't worry about finding your receipt - Lakelands are the only company that sells them! Give them a ring, their customer service is the best in the world - I am sure they will help you out.
