Do you think you can cook pasta in the remoska?

Good Morning:hello:, hope you enjoy your reading!:rotfl:

Yes you can cook pasta in the remoska if you wanted to, but to be hocnest it would be quicker to boil it on your stove top.

Ooh what recipes do you have any for your pasta bakes pleases?:D

Hi Triker, hope you don't mind me answering your question!;)

When I do pasta bakes I put my pasta on to boil on the stove top and as soon as it reaches a good rolling boil I put the lid on tightly and turn the cooker off. In fifteen minutes or so it will be cooked with no further use of fuel!
I then transfer the drained pasta into the Remoska, add anything else that I have lurking in the fridge (leftovers mainly, chopped chicken or even a tin of tuna, cooked vegetables), give it a good stir, add the sauce of your choice (tin of soup, passatta, homemade whatever, store bought spagetti sauce) sprinkle with a bit of cheese turn on the Remoska and in about 20 to 30 minutes you will have a nice pasta bake!

Very economical, uses up the leftovers and it tastes very nice too. I often will put in quorn pieces as well to make it all free on slimming world green days!:j:j

I just chuck in the pasta and 2-3 tines chopped tomoatoes, stir, add enough water to cover, add few herbs. Cook for about 1/2 hour then put grated cheese on the top and cook again until finished (about another 1/2 hour). Lovely..

Like retired lady, I cook my pasta on the hob and then transfer it into the Moska with whatever I want to use up and quite often chop up a ball of mozzarella and throw that it as well. I usually only do a pasta bake when I have lots of "bits" of different veg that need using up, maybe throw in some chicken or bacon with a tin of tomatoes and then grate some parmesan on top. I have found that about 25 mins is fine too.
  • I'm thinking of trying my first fritatta in mine today - to use up the remainder of my cooked butternut squash (with a chopped onion and a bit of sage from the garden and some parmesan). I usually do it in the oven and the flavours go really well together. I guess I'll have to keep a close watch on it to make sure it doesn't burn. Any tips from those who have tried this before?

Sounds good to me! Only suggestion is to have your foil ring handy just in case the edges are browning/cooking alot quicker than the centre. Just pop the foil with the hole in the centre on for the last 10 minutes or so if required. Good luck, I am sure it will take great!:T

Do you cook the pasta first?

I was surprised too, but I posted because this is Lakeland's official line - it is the Lakeland response to a review on their own website. Not to say it isn't still nonsense, but it is their official line. I wouldn't dream of writing 'second hand nonsense' or anything that I believed would put other users at risk.

And the point of my post was to say that Lakeland will always refund if that's what you want - they just can't overcome every design fault in their stock catalogue so consumers have to decide for themselves when to draw the line.

I fear you miss the point. Just because something is on a website/forum doesn't mean it is genuine! Just because a 'Customer review' and supposed Lakeland reply was 'posted' doesn't meant it was genuine, or Lakeland's official line. YOU are making that ASSUMPTION (you may even be breaking the law and could be considered libellous, repeating something you do not know to be true?) Unless of course you work for Lakeland and are their legal representative and stating that... but you are not. Only way to find out is ask Lakeland direct, and as they replace anything... there is no issue. BUT DON'T BELIEVE EVERYTHING you read on a website or forum! Most of all don't REPEAT it as TRUE!

You cannot quote Lakleand's 'offical line' based on something on a website any website... Lakeland's or this one!

Have you read what it says at the top of this page????

ALL web sites can be infiltrated!

WOT, you thought the web woz safe and information reliable!

UK citizen Gary Mckinnon is accused of gaining illegal access to 97 computer systems belonging to the Pentagon, NASA and the US military. How 'safe' is that?!!!

Try rearranging these letters into a well known word, 'bbom' and put that in an email/form/blog. Better still try the name of a well-known organisation that the first bit sounds a bit like Al as in Al Alahmein, but the second word begins with a Q and the rest of it goes a bit like 'Aida'. Put that in an email ...and then look out of your front window for the guys sat in the car wearing sunglasses (but the sun isn't out).

They know everything about you. Believe me. You think passwords and aliases mean something, read the small print!

Ever noticed if you break down and call the recovery services from a mobile... they know exactly where you are (within about 3ft anyway).

Sorry got to go... expecting visitors!
  • YES, because millions of people were perfectly capable of changing a plug, but a few numpties weren't so we all have to pay extra just to protect these numpties.

There are millions of people in this country perfectly capable of making minor repairs to electrical items, rewiring houses, cars etc. who have had no formal training or hold no qualifications.

Health and Safety gone mad if you ask me!

Next you will be saying "Don't cook food unless you are a qualified chef"!!!!

In this case I would say send it back to Lakeland. Not because I think you are not capable of spotting a loose wire and fixing it, but because you will get a new one.

    Whatever you do...

"Don't cook food unless you are a qualified chef"!!!!
