Remoska cookers (merged)

Boring question: how do people clean the lid of Moska ? I cooked a chuk last night (sooooo tasty) and there is now baked-on chicken goo on the glass (I have a warm damp cloth sitting on there to soften it, which I'm sure will work OK) BUT ALSO little brown dots of burnt splatter on where the element is on the top. They won't come off with a cloth and the only way I can get them off is by picking at them with a fingernail. Is this what we're all doing I wonder ? Don't like to use even non-stick pan cleaner on it if teflon coating so frail. Any tips out there please ???0

I'm experimenting with a chicken stew today. Roasted the carcass yesterday in the remoska then added water and a few bits to make the stock which I've taken the fat off of today and going to cook the veg and add the cooked chicken and dumplings later. Thought I'd 'roast' the veg in the remoska a bit first before I add the stock.0

I bid on a grand remoska from ebay & won.
£87 including p&p.
It arrived this morning.
Probably should have gone for the standard, but there wasn't one on ebay at the time.
I have read quite a few posts about people not happy with the pans on the grand remoska.
How can I protect it?
Can you use normal baking trays etc in the base or do you have to just use the base?
Thanks

Just made my first batch of bread rolls in the Moska. Have always used my Panasonic BM before for bread and the rare occasion that I have made rolls have done them in the oven. These were the best I have ever made. Will definitely be making more. Have just got some dough rising so will make a loaf later.0

I have made a lovely lemon cake and then roasted some sweet potatoes and baby turnips for dinner.
I also would like any cleaning tips for the lid as mine is becoming very discoloured and has *splat* marks on it that just dont seem to budge. But these things take time, I know that I'm, the most inept that ever stepped.0 -
And another boring question : am I being very stupid but if lakeland say they are the only outlet selling remoskas how is it possible to buy them on e bay at lower prices ? Am I being really dim here ?0

Some are used, sold by people who no longer want them. But there is at least one person selling new ones regularly.
I guess Lakeland don't count ebay as a retail outlet.0 -

I bought mine on sunday from ebay for £87 (grand).
It says exclusive to lakeland, so I'm not sure!!0 -

hmm yes, I have been rather in denial about this too, thinking I will deal with cleaning the lid later! There will be a moment when I have to face the facts i.e. when I cannot see through the glass window anymore.
