    Morning :j

Lovely day here also, we were woken by the cat bringing us a gift at 5.30 this morning....a pigeon's head. Lovely! The rest of the bird, well, feathers and few bits of innards were in the kitchen. _pale_

I got up to make us a cup of tea and found that the milk was off

So, I've been to the shop and bought milk and a paper, it's our weekly treat, a copy of The Sunday Times. :D

I managed to get a fair bit of ironing done yesterday, whilst watching Carry on Camping and then the program about Sid James and Barbara Windsor.

Plans for today, I've got to call into work and fix a machine, go and buy some salady stuff for other work and I think a trip to the tip is needed also.

Scuzz, Snowy, Candy, and all the others who are job hunting....Good Luck for this week.
Chrisca, take care and I'm so pleased that your mum saw the pictures.
Mioliere, hope you had a good reunion ;)
Pen-Pin, hope OH feels better soon.

Hugs to all those who are in need. :grouphug:

Clear & sunny here in Berkshire today too.
I have to start cooking soon as Mil & FIL are coming for lunch & BIL is staying home to see them.
I'm doing 2 starters, liver & bacon pate & mackerel pate on toast & also roasted red peppers with cherry toms & anchovys.
Then we are having Jerk chicken with rice, & slad & I'm doing new pots & veg from the garden for those who don't eat rice.
For pud I'm doing chocolate brownies, ice cream & creme brulee, phew. All this with only a remoska, lol, I just hope it all works out.
    Have a good day everyone.
    Hugs Hester

Hester, let us know how it goes with the Remoska, this could be a turning point for many of us who are debating about getting one.

Good morning, everyone! We have a decidedly overcast sky today, which doesn't bode well as the OH and I are supposed to be taking the motorbike out to see some friends off on a trip from Land's End to John O'Groats for charity. I really hope it doesn't rain! Riding in the wet is no fun. :(

Yesterday's shopping trip was a real success. I've come back with several ideas for the dress, and while I didn't get the fabric I wanted, I've got a couple of leads to follow up - one involves a trip to the markets of London :D

When I get back today, I'll be making a change to the meal plan (sadly). I didn't taken any mince out, and instead of faffing around making a pie when I don't know how long I'll have, I'll take a couple of frozen lasagnes from the freezer and do the pie tomorrow night. It'll throw me out a bit, but these things happen.

I might also do some more sewing - I had an idea for a Toblerone-shaped draught excluder to go on windowsills. Some of our curtains do not quite reach the bottom, and having something the curtain can rest on but that still keeps the cold out and the heat in is going to be useful in winter. The landlord has still not put double-glazing in the bungalow, so I want to be as efficient as possible.

Have a great Sunday, everyone, and (((hugs))) to everyone in need.

    Morning all

Sun is shining here in Kent too - looks lovely out there.

Got friends coming for dinner today - did a huge bit of brisket in the SC yesterday with loads of onions - whizzed the onions and stock up to make a gorgeous gravy - will slice the meat and reheat in the gravy later - got some gammon in the SC now - was a small joint in the freezer so thought it would help pad out the beef (that way I can save half of it for during the week). All the veg is prepared, just need to give the dinning room a quick dust and wash the floor....made choccy orange sponge cakes yesterday too - used some, soaked in cointreau as a base for a trifle...smells yummy.

DH has been signed off again - he's probably going to be off until the end of the month until he's had his scan and then they'll decide whether they need to operate or not..... Luckily he's on full pay so that's one less worry. It's lovely to have him home (although would be even better if he wasn't in pain)

All my veg are growing so quick, going to lass some lettuces on to my friend today tho - or I shall end up having to buy a rabbit!

Hope you all have a fab day and the weather holds.

    Morning :hello:

The baby piggies are currently stinking the hall out  They're at the age where they 'argue' for dominance, so they're literally having a p!ss!ng contest  I hope one wins soon, dunno how much longer I can stand it :D

Why do teenagers put 2 weeks of dirty clothes in the basket, then run out of the door and disappear for the weekend? It means I have no-one to yell at about it - by the time they come home I'll have calmed down. So, I'll be doing the washing today
