I asked them and the woman even suggested that her guest didn't know that in London people don't like it when you park in their drive as they live in the country they do it all the time.

    borrox.

i live in London during the week and in the country at weekends and people don't park on each other's driveways in the country at all!

perhaps they all share one braincell?

That's an odd thing to say. He's a police officer, not a superhero!

(and gas engineers have important jobs too!)
I meant it in the fact that OH job pays my bills, the gasman's doesn't!!:D

I did come home one afternoon to find an ice cream van sat across the drive (it's double drive) selling to the local kids!
Oooh I would be out buying an ice-cream as we rarely see ice-cream vans around here.

The only person who sometimes partially blocks my drive is one of my neighbours visitors. She's about 90 and her parking is unbelieveable. I don't say anything as she only does it a few times and I do think that how she's parked is the best she can do (sometimes I can't decide which pavement she's meant to be near to)!

As I said in my OP. I wouldn't have minded if he had just asked me if it was okay, even if he had asked after he was already parked. I just like manners. I ask if I park on someone's driveway.

What a load of twaddle. If it was a mistake they would have moved it immediately not pretended they were not in by not answering the door.

I think your neighbour is telling her friends to park in your drive to annoy you.

This is the car that blocked me in , which The council kindly came and ticketed.
It doesn't look so bad but my hubby was unable to access the drive and it took 7 hours before it was moved.

I can't seem to add a photo. Can anyone tell me hoe its done on here

You guy ain't gonna believe this.

I just got back from Tesco in a cab and there it was a big gold ford in my drive.
Just two days after they promised not to do it again.
The car was parked in such a bad way I couldn't get me bags in the house. I rung their bell three long times and no one answered. I squeezed pass the car and got stung several times on the ivy in my bushes. I went into my garden and had to climb over the back fence to get into their garden. I knocked on their back door as I could see they were in. I asked they very kindly if they could move it and her response was I don't know what car you are talking about. She then came outside, saw the car and went back in to get the keys. She moved the car herself and even had the cheek to comment on how bad the car was parked. I have in all my life never seen someone take so long to move a car a few feet. I was so angry and told her that if her or her friends do it again I will personally take a bat to one of her windows. I know this is illegal and I don't think I would ever stoop so low but I have truly had enough. This morning I had parked my wheelie bin in the way and they clearly moved it to be able to park. My other neighbors often have parties and ask to use our drive and I allow it as they have asked and would do the same for us. I feel so powerless in my own home. I have a photo of the car that had blocked my drive but not of any parked on my drive. I will upload it of my camera in 20mins.
Thanks everyone for all your support

I wouldn't have bothered. I would have simply parked my car across the entrance to the driveway, and then ignored the door. Let them do without their car for a day.
