BG or any other trades/delivery person has never parked on my drive before without asking. They rarely ask to park on my drive as it's not much of walk up my garden path (my drive goes down to the back of my house) and there is always parking directly outside my house. If Curry's can move a large fridge/freezer and Leekes two 3 seater sofas up from the pavement I'm sure the BG man could have managed the laptop and hoover!

He was was rude in not asking if it was okay, especially as he took over 1 hour to service my boiler and gas fire. If he had been 10 minutes earlier he would have been told to move as OH needed to get to work and his job is more important than the gasmans!

All he had to say to not irritate me was "is it okay I'm parked on your driveway?" as he could see there was a car parked there and he was blocking it in. Manners cost nothing but seem strangely absent these days.

if he done the service in 5 minutes you would be complaining that he didnt take long enough.
he parked there for both his and your convenience, if someone needed the car past his van im sure they have got a tongue in thier head and could have asked him to move his van,im sure he would have obliged.

But he had a tongue in his head. Why couldn't he just ask if it was okay? What is wrong with having basic good manners?

It was only for his convenience he parked there, it wasn't for mine. It didn't make him any quicker as he came in carrying laptop and hoover and left carrying laptop and hoover. He didn't go out to his van once while he was in the house.

he didnt know this when he arrived though,he didnt know what to expect when he took the covers off your boiler and fire,he may have needed parts.

This is why society is in decline because if someone speaks up for good manners (or even just basic manners) they are called anal!

no its because people like you dont like change and get offended at the slightest thing, you make up silly rules just because you think you can and expect people to adhere to them and also give you 100% when your making thier life or job harder than it needs to be.
get over it and be glad this is all you have to worry about.

When the car in the picture was parked across your drive was your car in your drive?

If not what was the car ticketed for? OH says according to the law it's only an offence to block a driveway if there is a car parked on it and you are preventing that car from entering the highway. If no car is parked on the driveway there is no obstruction and no offence. The fact you cannot access your driveway is irrelevant.

However he does know from colleagues that some of them will ticket people anyway as it saves a lot of grief. Whether they challenge the ticket, they don't know.

Also he says that parking partially on the pavement isn't an automatic ticket offence. It depends how wide the pavement is and how much room is left. Personally parking on pavements is my pet hate and if I had a fixed penalty book I would use it all up in an hour!!

You could alway input the details here

That what I said in my post before.

This is the photo of the car that was across my drive, which the council ticketed.
    Please re-read my post.

    Thanks

I live in this borough and these are their rules.
My drive holds two cars and my hubby's car was on our drive.
Even if it wasn't I would still have asked for a ticket and would have been well within my rights to do so. Its my drive not and I should be able to access it at all times.
Your OH is mistaken on this one.
