Driveway parking?

Theres always the possibility that it is a double width drive with no separation between the 2 drives, as on a lot of newer properties. Erecting a separating fence or suchlike can be impossible due to neither party being able to open doors fully. Maybe the op could clarify?
I think it it was me the stuation would already have escalated, don't get me wrong I am fairly tolerant by nature and go out of my way to get on with the neighbours, but what they are displaying is total disregard for your rights and property. I think if the issue isn't sorted you could be in for a fair amount of hassle:mad:
I wouldn't recomend violence or retaliation but I would think if hubby and several mates knocked on the door and explained that it "wasn't acceptable", It may get the message accross. Your being reasonable has obviously failed so far.
I also think that the excuse of the car owner having taken the keys and left is taking the !!!!, and is probably in direct retaliation to the previous car being ticketed.
Needs dealing with now.;)I like the thanks button, but ,please, an I agree button.
Will the grammar and spelling police respect I do make grammatical errors, and have carp spelling, no need to remind me.;)
Always expect the unexpected:eek:and then you won't be dissapointed0 -
what are those metal mini lamps that come up from the ground, and you can push them back in, my mate done it, cudnt stop lafin0

I believe it is possible to get a court to serve some sort of legal notice so that they cant park on your drive. If they park on your drive again they will be in contempt of court and face not insignificant consequences. I'm not sure how it all works though, you'd need to talk to a solicitor or something.
If you cant be bothered with all of that I suggest you just block them in if they park there again and take your time to move when they need to get out.0 -
I do believe there is a legal course of action you can take to stop them parking on your property.
If you have a look at this forum (you need to register to view) you'll see your problem has been discussed at length by previous posters having the same problem. I'm sure pne of the threads will give you the advice you need.
The forum name is good and if nothing else they'll probably be some good reads on there.

Thanks for all the advice. They came around 11:30pm yesterday and asked, but instead of the driver it was the man who lives next door. He apologized and assured me it wont happen again, but that is what his girlfriend said last time. I can get some chains and locks but I will need to put up poles to attach them to as its just headges either side. A locking bollard is like £70 then I have to get someone to fit it. But is might be better that fidgeting around with chains 3-4 times a day. Does anyone know what the law is with wheel clamps, can I use one? That way I don't have all the hassle and can use it as an when necessary. Also if I do use one, what do I do when they come to move the car? Take it off or report them to dvla. If I have to take it off straite away then there is not much point. I'm guessing I cant fine them?0

you could bash in some 4" wooden posts fairly easily to use a chain...dig a hole then hammer them in as far as you can
the locking posts are ebay for £10-20plus postage just be carefull you dont hit the bollard or chain yourself..it would also be a extra anti thieft measure for your own car
at least if the driveway is chained or a bollard it will stop them getting there in the first place , using a wheel clamp will get their backs up even more and cause further troubles0 -
TBH you might not even need a chain and padlock. Any object left acrross your driveway should stop people parking there. So a couple of lagre plant pots / road cones / wooden bench / wheelie bin might work0
-
I put the wheelie bin in the way this morning, I am gonna search ebay to see what I can find. A folding bollard would be good. Ill see if I can find a sign too.0
-
To make a folding bollard on the cheap all you need is a wooden post, some kind of hinge/pivot and a sliding bolt to hold upright. Not highly secure but stops anyone from driving straight in
Make sure it's visible though!0 -
Have a look on here about parking tickets & wheelclamps. www.pepipoo.co.uk
I think only registered/ approved companies can wheelclamp cars in England.
My brother had this happen to him twice. the second time he used his work van to pull the other car off his drive and left it on the other side of the road.
Are there any garages in the yellow pages that might come and tow it away? be worth paying them £25 to tow it to somewhere with double yellow lines or legal wheelclamping..........0
